Lost - Season 5

Stay out of the conversations if you don't like them. Yes, neptune and I disagreed on things, but we didn't get upset at each other or anything like you are insinuating.

Just because you get confused by things doesn't mean others do.

NO I am Not confused at all, I understand BOTH sides of theories perfectly, BUT I just DON'T think there really is a Right or wrong to these arguments, at least yet. I DON'T think at this time the show has revealed enough to go either way 100%! Time Travel stuff is complex and Unknown, like I said. So, argue about it like you KNOW it has to be RIGHT is ...

Like iLink posted above, you stated more than enough times that it IS a fact, rather than your own opinion.

You are so annoying Jedi, who died and made you mod of this forum, half the fun of lost is discussing it with fellow fans of the show, whoever is right or wrong no one cares its a discussion, it certainly doesnt need people like you self proclaimed experts telling people to shut up.

What?

I definitely am Not acting like I am an expert!

I am just saying, Don't act you are right with this Time Travel stuff!

All these attitudes like "I am right, you are wrong" on Time Travel is nonsense.

However, I guess it's not my business if you guys actually LIKE the argument and thought it was Fun, and want to keep it going.

Sorry, I did NOT intent to Kill the fun!

So, my bad, I won't say anymore on it, then.

Forget I said anything.

RESUME!

Now that Locke knows he's going to die, I get a feeling that once his corpse is returned to the island he'll be revived. Am I the only one who thinks this?

No-one is ever dead on Lost :p

Uhm, thats because the part I was arguing, WAS correct.

Also, any post you find on the internet is opinion unless specifically stated as fact. I don't need to say 'I think' or 'IMO' every three words just so people like you aren't upset.

Now that Locke knows he's going to die, I get a feeling that once his corpse is returned to the island he'll be revived. Am I the only one who thinks this?

Nope, I'm positive he'll pop up cryptkeeper style.

I guess we need to find out how Jeremy Bentham died, so we can know what's going to happen.

Well the official story is that he hung himself. Its possible he really did that, because he was told her had to die.

Other than that, the other logical explanation is Sayid killed him.

He was told he had to die "on the Island". How could he get off the island if already dead ?!

Sayid killing him (supposing he was on Ben's list) is a little extreme, as Sayid wouldn't just kill someone he knows back in the Island just because Ben wants so. Especially Locke.

So, that brings us back to the same question: How he really died ? If it really was a suicide, then WHY ? if not, then, who killed him and made it look like he hung up himself ? Couldn't be the same guys who are after the O6 (Widmore's guys... maybe ) !

After all, if you look at the Ben-Locke relationship, it makes all the sense in the world Ben did kill him. He already shot him and left him for dead in a grave-hole, before that he lied to him about pushing the button (when he was being captured by the losties)... I dunno! *confused*

He was told he had to die "on the Island". How could he get off the island if already dead ?!

Thats exactly why he didn't die on the island. Richard said he had to die. Not when or where. Also, we know that he was alive off-island because he met with The O6, Walt, etc.

Sayid killing him (supposing he was on Ben's list) is a little extreme, as Sayid wouldn't just kill someone he knows back in the Island just because Ben wants so. Especially Locke.

If Ben somehow convinced him that Locke had something to do with Nadia's death (maybe to try and get Sayid back to the island) then its not too much of a stretch.

But Ben knows that Locke needed to go back to the island in order for Ben to go back, so I don't know if he'd risk that. We know theres only two things Ben wants. Penny dead and to get back to the island.

Hi,

- Nah. Ben doesn't want to just get back to the island, he wants ALL the losties to get back to the island ! Now why would he kill Locke as Locke's mission outside the island is also to convince the O6 to return back ? Ben wanting Locke dead in the island is a fact, but outside the island and given the context it just doesn't make sens for now.

But Locke's death was the single thing that finally convinced Jack that he needed to go back. Locke talking to the O6 didn't convince them.

Ben wanting the O6 to go back is only his means to an end of him getting back. If he could do it without them, he would.

I guess episode might have gotten it right. So why, if anyone can tell, does Ben argue with Mrs.Hawkings about the timelimit ? He makes it like Mrs.Hawkings could have gotten him more time ? And that goes without asking why exactly that much time ? and what would happen if the deadline is not met ? (from some spoilers I've seen/read, they got to the Island with 2 more people)

^ Because that is when the island is going to 'flash' back to the current time so they can get back on it. Thats what the 'event detected' the pendulum were working towards. The location and the time that the island would appear.

He's not really 'arguing' with her, hes just upset because he doesn't think he can get them all together in 70 hours.

If the deadline isn't met, they might to have to wait who knows how long til the island flashes to a time when they can get back on it again.

Episode 5.06 - 316 - Snippet

Mrs Hawking gives something to Jack that MUST go back with Locke's body along with a special item that comes in pairs that is related to Jack's grandfather.

Very interesting!!

Does anyone else reckon that since seeing some of the Oceanic 6 in Dharma suits in spoilers from the upcoming episodes that the reason the Dharma Initiative exists is because of them, that they are the ones who bring Dharma to the island? I know its a very out their theory and has many things which can completely make this not true

When you posted that, the first thing I thought of was the black and white stones that Jack found in 'Adam and Eve's hands in the caves area from the beginning of the series. Not sure what the significance would be, though.

    • I can't believe Starmer is still there...his party lost so big. He's a stubborn coot, but this is largely unenforceable, so I would imagine he'll be resigning soon. A key here is for parents to buy their kids phones sans Internet access--and set up the Internet at home, where mom and day can, you know, act like parents instead expecting the government to raise their kids.
    • EA launches in-game advertising platform for brands to "connect with audiences" by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The gaming giant Electronic Arts is exploring more ways to inject real-life brands into its games. Announced today as EA Advertising, the new platform is attempting to make it easier for brands to reach out for deals with the company and put their products inside titles like EA Sports FC, Madden, NHL, Skate, or The Sims. EA revealed that its EA Sports side of the company brings in "hundreds of millions of players across console, PC, and mobile" every year. Fan engagement of these titles was also touted as being "extraordinary," with 23,000 NFL seasons worth of games being played in Madden NFL daily, while EA Sports FC sees over a billion matches a day. “Players come to EA’s games and live experiences every day to play, watch, create and connect,” said David Tinson, Chief Experiences Officer at Electronic Arts. “That gives brands a meaningful opportunity to show up in ways that add value and respect the player experience, while maintaining authenticity in the worlds our teams are building. With EA Advertising, we’re helping brands become part of those moments in ways that are relevant and built for players.” Using the new program EA Advertising, brands will be able to inject their products into games in real-time via dynamic placement. EA says partners will have access to everything from stadium signage in sports games and targeted adverts to in-game content custom-made for the brands. These are described as additions designed to "enhance, not disrupt" experiences. "In these interactive gameplay environments, brands become part of the game itself, reflecting how players engage with advertising in real-world contexts," adds the company "Brands can activate across live environments, tailoring placements to meet campaign objectives, and update campaigns with ongoing optimization informed by aggregated engagement insights." Current real-world brand partnerships EA has built into its games include Visa (EA Sports FC and College Football), Lowe's (EA Sports FC, Madden NFL, and College Football), Red Bull (EA SPORTS FC), Xfinity and Peacock (EA SPORTS FC), and Mountain Dew’s (College Football).

    • UK to ban under-16s from social media following a six-week trial with teenagers by Paul Hill Credit: Pexels A few months ago, Neowin reported that the UK was trialing a social media ban with 300 teenagers for six weeks, that testing has come to an end, and Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced that the country will ban under-16s from social media. Starmer said that this technology is making children unhappy and making it easier for bullies to harass and abuse them. He continued to talk about the addictive nature of social media, saying that it uses an infinite scroll designed to lock users in for hours. He said this interferes with children doing their homework, reading, playing with friends outside, and going to bed on time. Tackling the idea that nothing can be done about social media, Starmer said: The government’s action won’t stop at social media either, the PM said. It plans to take action on gaming services and livestreaming platforms. Right now, he said, strangers can contact any child unchecked. He said this wouldn’t happen in real life, and the government is going to stop it from happening online, too. The Labour government has overseen the introduction of the Online Safety Act, a big change to the internet which includes age verification on adult websites. This has led to a fair bit of backlash, but overall, the government is pushing ahead with these changes.
