  1. 1. Who should lead on Destiny?

I found it funny that one of the guys brought his iPhone :) I'm sure there will be something about that later on. I'm guessing maybe new race and they are amazed at it  Oh Apple...

Nah, the battery'll run out in no time. :p

Marina in Brooklyn, N.Y.: I loved Stargate Universe! Do you have any info on what's to come?

Sadly, after the blockbuster premiere, we hear that the next installment is fairly weak on plot and visibly less expensive than the pilot. That's not to say that Stargate Universe is not going to be a great addition to the Syfy lineup long-term, but there's a minor dip in the road.

Does anyone remember the SGA episode called Travellers? Destiny looks very similar ships used by the travellers.

Still, it'd be nice to explore their history more. And it would REALLY be nice to see the Furlings somehow. Maybe they can help save them at the end of the series or whatever? Might be an interesting way to finally introduce them....

Furlings? Are they the race that's only been mentioned but never found?

Nah, the battery'll run out in no time. :p

lol.. I was thinking that.

I didn't like the pilot much. Too many plot holes, didn't really like any of the characters, and it was kinda boring. I'm a huge SG1 and Atlantis fan, but this pilot didn't impress at all. I'll tentatively watch the next few episodes to see if it grows on me, but I'm not going to keep my hopes up.

what's with the guy who was playing the video game, is he supposed to be McKay but fatter?
Eli Wallace is a "total slacker" in his early twenties and an "utter genius" in mathematics, computers and other fields. He is a social outcast with an "acerbic sense of humor", and lacks confidence in his intelligence.

no mckay (yet)

I'm a BIG fan of Sg-1 and Atlantis- Universe was very disappointing. I felt that they are trying to make it like BSG (Which I also love); I also don't like the acting, I feel like I am watching the parody of "200" the "young" version of Stargate. I'll give it a few more episodes but so far I don't like the feel of it.

Yea, the lack of confidence basically makes him the anti-McKay. :p

He immediately starts riding Rush in the second hour of the pilot though, trying to ego boost so he can get it on with the senator's daughter.

I think that if he can kind of settle up with Rush, they'll make a really good team. Rush has secrecy issues that may make that impossible though (which is probably the point). Right now they don't seem to trust one another enough to reliably work together.

I think that the ship being largely derelict and inaccessible gives a nice opportunity for the producers to contrast episodes where they're gating to planets with episodes where they're reopening previously damaged sections of the ship and unveiling hitherto unknown Ancient technology.

The real test of the series will be the episode after the pilot though. It's not stargate until you have a team gating to an unknown planet and dealing with their interpersonal issues under duress.

i was also 'dissapointed'. But it is only a pilot, and shows tend to only really pick up after the first season when a storyline starts to form. I really dont like that one soldier who was in detention, i can already tell hes gonna be that guy no one likes but ends up being a hero.

I think they are trying to copy BSG a bit, but also not, they want it to me more dark and gritty unlike the previous stargates where everyones a model citizen and everyones got a nice comfy place to live. Ill watch it because its stargate, and i think its got really good potential if they are willing to push their limits.

    • While I agree with all that, it just proves there's an a** built for every seat.
    • Lol are you mad because I'm not using AI? I'd rather pay people than lose a bunch of potential customers and get humilated because I used AI. A lot of people won't purchase a game if it used AI during development.

    • hahahahah wow hahahah you sure got me there hahahahahah, you know that bad performance is always due to poor optimization by the developers, right???
    • "I know for a fact I'll never own one of these." This is why choice is better than government regulation. Globaly Android has something like 72% of the smartphone market. Granted the vast majority of that is low end phones. Apple can and should charge whatever they want. The market will decide if it is too much.
