The Canucks will be better than last year. That's not saying much though cuz they sucked last year. My early prediction is that Colorado will win the NW division. And I think its going to be more competitive than a lot of people are saying. It may not be the best div in the league this year but its still going to be very close.

avs don't have a goalie, i think calgary is taking that division.

I'll agree that the avs have possibly the worst goalie tandem in the league, but for some reason i think Edmonton might surprise alot of people and take the NW division.

In other news, i wouldn't like to be a wings fans this morning. Losing 3-2 to a team that is rebuilding must suck. :p

i'm so glad hockey is back

What a game by vancouver last night eh? If the canucks keep playing the kind of hockey we saw last nite, i dont care if they are bottom feeders. It is so much more exciting to see an energized hockey team than a team who doesnt seem to care! If the energy for every night is that high, it's gonna be a great year!

GREAT tribute to Luc. I can hardly keep those tears back. It was emotional, kudos to the canucks management.

Gonna be some game tomorrow against calgary. Regehr is back? It's kinda scary how ONE person can really mess up that D. I can't begin to count how many times the Flames would come back from a deficit because of the energy they can create from a fight or a hit or a short-hand goal...but everytime something is tried to be started last night, Canucks match it and deal with it better. O! I m so glad hockey is back lol.

The game in Vancouver last night was absolutely spectacular. I don't think I've seen that kind of hockey in our city in years. It was a picture perfect game to be honest. The ceremony for Luc was enough to bring a tear to the eyes of any hockey fan.

If the Canucks can play like that for a good chunk of this year I think we have a chance for a deep drive in the playoffs. The team is looking great, definitely a huge improvement over last year. Bernier is going to be a huge fan favorite very soon!

I still have faith in Sundin coming over here, if he comes, I guarantee a deep playoff berth. :p

Anything can happen really, but you don't want to forget that a much more complete Ottawa Senators started last year looking like heroes and might as well have ended out of the playoffs. That isn't to say that Vancouver won't do anything of course but having expectations of them doing anything other than making the playoffs is overshooting (whether they end up out of the playoffs or win the cup, they ****ing better not... GO HABS).

    • Gen Atlas is the next game from Shadow of the Colossus creator, this time with giant robots by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The mind behind widely well-received games like Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian, Fumito Ueda, showed up at Summer Game Fest today, and that was to reveal his latest project. Being developed by genDESIGN, Gen Atlas is incoming with what looks to be plenty of mech and robot action. Watch the reveal trailer, which makes not much sense, above. The game will have players waking up on an abandoned planet where deserted facilities and grand designs from the original creators remain. Soon, they will stumble upon a colossal robot, from which players gain access to the power to change the world. "Across an endless expanse of time, the remnants of those forgotten constructs begin to move once more," adds the studio. The gameplay snippets seen in the trailer show the player character climbing giant robots (as expected from the creator), while also controlling these titans somehow as well. This is a fully single-player open-world adventure. “The team and I are grateful to all the fans who’ve been eager to learn more about our game,” says Fumito Ueda, CEO and creative director of genDESIGN. “Their passion and enthusiasm has always motivated and inspired us. We hope to share an experience that inspires moments of quiet wonder and discovery.” Before gaining the name Gen Atlas, Ueda first announced this project back in 2024 with the codename Project Robot. Interestingly, this will be a project being funded and published by Epic Games, which should mean that a Steam release is out of the question. Gen Atlas will be releasing on Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. A release date has not been announced just yet.
    • How backwards can you have it? Yes, Linux was gaining because of Linux handhelds and the push for gaming compatibility, but that's not desktop users, it barely converts anyone who owns a SteamDeck, though it helps for those who wanted to do it, but anyways, the AI+RAM debacle helped Linux because people can't easily upgrade their PCs easily and many hate AI so they'd be incentivized to try Linux.
