Anyone wanna firefight or ANYTHING add me ProudSikh. Besides school and gf, ive been pretty free and most of my friends that ive been playing with since monday night/tuesday "morning" have other things to do now(go figure, putting off school for a game would not come back and bite your ass...).

Anyway, anyone wanna playing ODST, ProudSikh. Hit me up. I have a mic and am a team player and such.

Sure you can add me I mostly try and get those FF achievements!

Microsoft stated that all people who:

"...use external methods with a PC to unofficially put a SGT Johnson addon to their profiles are trackable. The used code can be read and we are aware of the current codes being exploited. All profiles using these codes will be banned permanently from the Xbox Live service."

just a heads up people.

Source? Cause I'm googling the hell out of it and can't find anything.

Edit, Also, if microsoft can't determine if the xbox's hard drive has been tampered with by now, I don't think they can really read the hard drive while your online. So I think this may be bogus until you provide a source.

ayepecks i don't think V-99 meant it aggressively, it's just that he likes this game and wants to stand up for it. just like talking about MS banning people invariably gets a response from the pro-mod/pro-hack lobby etc.

i don't even know what all this Sgt Johnson hoopla's about. What's the big deal with people adding him to their Halo save files anyway?

Cause it was a pre-order bonus apparently. And you could only get it if you pre-ordered the game from select retailers, which is complete bogus in my opinion cause not all stores would offer this.

But Still, without a source, I think that this is just all just made up. I tried searching for an official source from majornelson.com / microsoft.com / xbox.com and still haven't been able to find any tangible leads.

I doubt it is made up. If you use a redeem code to get the content, they can easily verify if you didn't use a code to get it. Their system is closed/proprietary for a reason.

Go ahead and try it and report back so we can verify their response. :)

Still no official word from microsoft from what I can gather from the net. So far I think that this may be made up. Also, when the marketplace first opened up online, there were loads of glitches that occurred in which people downloaded bonus materials for games that were not verified for. Yes, Microsoft did do some action towards those members, but others who said that they downloaded it have not had any of their content removed from their hard drives. Once on the hard drive, always on the hard drive.

Edit: can say that a friend had done it, and so far he hasn't been banned whatsoever.

That's right I wasn't being aggressive. I meant to ask a genuine question, "do you feel you got your moneys worth?"

Sorry ayepecks.

Just read it on some torrentsite, there was no source, just copypasta. but better safe than sorry I guess :p

Sorry ayepecks.

Gotcha -- no problemo!

Yeah, I gladly paid $60 for this. I think it's more of a $40-$50 title since I already had the multiplayer with Halo 3, but I don't regret the purchase. But the graphics are still fairly dated. Hopefully Reach will utilize a new engine (or heavily modified/updated).

i agree with most of ayepeck's observations, it's a good game that has some very obvious shortcomings - mostly the short game time and rehashed MP. speaking of which, every time i play team slayer ranked it goes to the same map - i always forget what it's called. but it's just that one, not like Halo 3 which cycled through a few of em.

nestea, doing all that stuff is pretty juvenile. i mean all that for a skin? i understand the need to defy authority, but it's not like anyone's forcing them to play this particular game to begin with.

Anyone down to try and get the FF and Deja Vu achievements?

Man, if I ever get some spare time I'd love to try for all the online achievements with people, but it doesn't seem like I do. After I get off work I go work out and I never get home until 8 p.m., and I have to get up at 6 a.m. weekdays. Gah.

I'll have time one weekend, I just don't know which one.

Guys weird question for everybody. Now because I have ODST, do I need to have the old free Halo 3 DLC that I downloaded on my hard drive? I was just clearing things out on my hard drive and realized that DLC might not need to be on there.

Now I digress. Who else has installed ODST to their hard drive? I can't believe it only takes up 3.5gb! My 20gb hard drive has over 6.1 gb's free on it. It hasn't been this empty ever. :p

    • UK funds £60M AI labs to challenge US tech dominance with open-source models by Paul Hill The UK government has awarded £60 million to Oxford University and University College London to help keep the country in the AI race by focusing on open-source, low-hardware alternatives. This is in stark contrast to the expensive, closed-source, and high-hardware-requirement models being created in the United States and elsewhere. The money will be shared among two new academic research labs over six years to help them redesign the fundamental mathematics and architectures of AI to help the UK reduce its reliance on a handful of US tech firms. Commenting on the development, AI Minister Kanishka Narayan said: Initially, the government planned to fund just one lab with a £40 million investment, but with this update, two labs will now get access to a larger pool of funds. The labs are expected to invest in the top AI researchers at every career stage, with £2 million per lab being set aside for hiring at least ten doctoral students. The government hopes that this will grow the UK’s talent in the field of AI. The labs are also expected to work closely with the leaders in British AI research, such as the Alan Turing Institute and UKRI’s AI research hubs. This will allow the various teams to collaborate and create new solutions faster than they could alone. This development is pretty interesting for a number of reasons, chiefly that it could create a long-term challenge for US tech firms if these labs successfully scale these open-source architectures that bypass the proprietary ecosystems. It could also give British businesses and public sector organizations access to AI features without paying high licensing fees to foreign providers or needing to invest in specialized server infrastructure.
    • If I were them, I'm gonna hold out until the prices of these semiconductor parts normalize. $1,049 for a ~5 year old hardware is DoA, more so for gamers. On a deeper note, if Steam Machine is priced like this, we are soo effed up for the next gen Xbox console and PS6. With great AAA titles releasing at the end of the year, this just creates more demand...and more tears for me. Lol.
    • I suspect one reason its hard to justify subsidising is that it's not a locked down device like a traditional console is. In this climate sadly if it was a "good deal" you'd get people hoarding them for anything but gaming. The Lenovo Legion Go 2 with the Ryzen Z2 Extreme is £1300 here ($1720) for some context on how other SteamOS like devices are now priced. I got the older Z1 Extreme model for £300 with a dock, just shows how insane prices have got recently.
