[Official] Halo 3: ODST

Recommended Posts

Just read it on some torrentsite, there was no source, just copypasta. but better safe than sorry I guess :p

I suppose that you may do have a point. But, a torrentsite may be legit or non-legit. If there are more people who are complaining that they have been suspended or banned due to this sort of incursion, then there would be a lot of forums and people complaining, hell, even on the official xbox live site / Bungie site.

i agree with most of ayepeck's observations, it's a good game that has some very obvious shortcomings - mostly the short game time and rehashed MP. speaking of which, every time i play team slayer ranked it goes to the same map - i always forget what it's called. but it's just that one, not like Halo 3 which cycled through a few of em.

nestea, doing all that stuff is pretty juvenile. i mean all that for a skin? i understand the need to defy authority, but it's not like anyone's forcing them to play this particular game to begin with.

Its not just about defying authority and sticking it to the man as some may call it, but I view it as a way to get more for my game. Sure, I live in a country where there was no opportunity to pre-order it. I would of if I could ( due to the fact that it was only available to only some retailers in specific countries ) but also the fact that now I see it as a way that game is now complete, without being denied what some people have already had gotten. and sure, I could of payed some bloke $10.00 for it, but, why pay for it when someone got it for free?

You can take it with a grain of salt if you will, but if you consider these actions that one person may take juvenile, then so be it.

i do consider it petty and juvenile - you can play the game without this file. if you could get the game legitimately, that's it, no need to do all that for one skin. the only loop hole is if you're a gamer who lives somewhere the game is simply not available in any form legitimately. but i don't think that's the case here.

mystic - maybe installing to the hard drive means faster decrunching, so the file can be smaller. or it still reads from the DVD, only very rarely so you don't notice it.

Hmm, I can't believe my question hasn't come up more considering the amount of DLC Halo has had and all the people with it. Maybe I should go ask on Bungie's forums.

Nope, couldn't place a pre-order since I'm living in Poland so I couldn't place a pre-order to begin with. I did go to the store here and buy the game (got a picture of it too, hate it that its not in English, but damn Russian/Polish :s)

Yes, One person can choose to unlock Sgt. Johnson by pre-ordering the game, but others perhaps did unlock him by non-legitimate means if they could not have the ability pre-order the game to begin with to get the unlock code. So, I'm leaving this to either Microsoft's / Bungie's inability to offer me the option to pre-order and get the unlock code for Sgt.Johnson.

Also, I hate the word petty. Its the word you put before thief, criminal, rapist. Damn that derogatory word.

So yeah, take it with a grain of salt. You have your opinion on the matter, and I have mine. Done and done.

As to Mystic question. You can delete the maps for halo 3 since they are included on the multiplayer disc that came with ODST. But, if you pop in the regular Halo3 disc, then if you deleted the maps off the hard drives they will not be avaliable to you.

Also, since Bungie now has the option to allow players to copy game data onto the hard drive (but not with Halo 3), they made it so that it would only copy the major components of the game onto the hard drive. A hard drive can read data faster than what can be read off a DVD ROM drive, hence why it loads levels a lot faster. Hope that helps ya :)

Ha ha ha, yes thanks I think we are all aware of that and have been for some time. :p

I'll go ahead and delete the map packs then.

Yes, I know, but you have to remember that in halo 3 they didn't optimize the game for copying to the hard drive. In fact, it made it load maps slower considerably. So Bungie has learned its lesson and made it so that copying the game to the hard drive can be beneficial :)

petty doesn't go very well with "rapist" neztea...but that's besides the point. i understand your annoyance, i always post about the stupidity of not having XBL as a truly global service. but what you're saying is that i can steal 17" rims for my car because Ford offers them in the mideast market but not in the US. it doesn't make a lot of sense.

just be happy you got the game on launch day over there, i've worked and lived in places where the only way to get movies and games was to buy the pirate copies.

This game is so worth it me and one of my friends went home from school today both got online and proceeded to play firefight and a bit of co-op together for 7 hours and it was loads of fun. We got up to 100k + in firefight and almost got to set 2 round 3 but someone had to leave from our game was tons of fun.

^ See. Thats why I like this game. Firefight can be played for hours and hours and still not get tired of it. Also, with turtle beaches, you will never realize youve been playing for hours.

It's always a new game, even when a another person joins, the difficult just escalates to new heights. I was scared as sh*t one time when 2 hammers showed up. I was like "motherf...... where you come from?"

Highway pre-Scorpion:

Feeling after finishing legendary solo:

I came up with an interesting strategy for the final battle: I carried a fuel rod gun through most of the level and gave it to Buck when we got the scorpion, and I grabbed another from a fallen brute to give to Dare - they were impenetrable :D

    • TeraCopy 4.0 Build 26 by Razvan Serea TeraCopy is a compact program designed to copy and move files at the maximum possible speed, also providing you with a lot of features. Copy files faster. TeraCopy uses dynamically adjusted buffers to reduce seek times. Asynchronous copy speeds up file transfer between two physical hard drives. Pause and resume transfers. Pause copy process at any time to free up system resources and continue with a single click. Error recovery. In case of copy error, TeraCopy will try several times and in the worse case just skips the file, not terminating the entire transfer. Interactive file list. TeraCopy shows failed file transfers and lets you fix the problem and recopy only problem files. Shell integration. TeraCopy can completely replace Explorer copy and move functions, allowing you work with files as usual. TeraCopy is free for non-commercial use only. For commercial use you need to buy a license. The paid version of the program includes the following features: Copy/move to your favorite folders. Save reports as HTML and CSV files. Select files with the same extension/folder. Remove the selected files from the copy queue. TeraCopy 4.0 Build 26 changelog: Added support for receiving files via the LocalSend protocol. Improved exception handling and automated bug report upload. Fixed several minor bugs and small memory leaks. Build 26 (June 24) Fixed a rare exception when a transfer completed. Features added since version 3.17: Enhanced speed graph. New multi-threaded copy engine. Support for copying to multiple targets. Queue system for managing multiple copy operations. Support for receiving files via the LocalSend protocol. TeraCopy entry in the modern Windows Explorer context menu. Integrated toolbar in the title bar. Why receive LocalSend transfers with TeraCopy? Handle file conflicts: Skip, overwrite, or rename files when a file with the same name already exists. LocalSend always creates another copy, which can waste time and disk space, especially when resuming an interrupted transfer. Filter unwanted files: Apply ignore lists or remove files manually before accepting a transfer, so unnecessary files are not downloaded. Better performance on fast networks: In tests over a 10 Gbps connection, TeraCopy received files several times faster than the standard LocalSend app on Windows. • Briefly used Turbo Pascal (and Turbo C++) in 97 and soon after that I bought PC magazine that included a full version of Delphi 2. I still use Delphi today, some 29 years later.
    • Age of Empires Mobile comes to PC, here's how to carry over progress from your phone by Ivan Jenic Image: YouTube/Microsoft Microsoft just released Age of Empires Mobile for PC. The game, officially called Age of Empires Mobile: PC Edition, is available for free on Steam and Microsoft Store, almost two years after its initial release for handheld devices. Age of Empires is one of those franchises that entire generations grew up with. The original came out in 1997, and immediately got people hooked to building civilizations and crushing their enemies on the battlefield. However, the franchise today is a far cry from its roots, as Age of Empires Mobile is, well, a game optimized for handheld devices, and not a classic RTS title we’ve all loved for years. And, of course, it includes in-game purchases. The PC version is still a mobile game at its core, but it’s been optimized for desktop play. There’s mouse control, full keyboard compatibility, and a refined UI. Microsoft also refreshed the visuals with some 4k textures, so the game should look better on larger screens. The game supports Crossplay, so you can switch between your phone, tablet, and PC without losing anything. But linked progress doesn’t come out of the box, as you have to enable it first. Here’s how to link your progress: On your mobile device, open Age of Empires Mobile. Go to Settings (Gear icon) > Account. Select Bind Account and choose a sign-in option. Once you enable account binding, sign in on PC using the same method, and your progress will be accessible across all your devices. Xbox Game Pass subscribers also get a bonus reward pack on PC, which includes: 1 Monthly Pass Token 1 Custom Resource Chest 10 Universal 60-Minute Speed-Ups 1,000 Empire Coins Exclusive Player Portrait Frame You can find more info about Age of Empires Mobile: PC Edition, as well as download links, on the Age of Empires official website.
