Because they have no case, everything is as it should be

True :p but I am just saying if theres sections for news like Microsoft,Apple maybe there should be for gaming...or even better a new gaming site :p

The front page seems broken by design.

It takes far too much focus away from the content of what is posted there. The old layout was better. The new one may be prettier, but the old one was better.

I'm going to have to agree with this and put it out there. This new layout does not really focus on delivering content, everything is tighter and less accessible than before. Although there is good separation of different topics, it's not refined enough to be appealing for readers. The design is good, but the layout is poor. There is little room for the eye to read on, the excerpts are too short, and the ads/blue banners/buttons are too catchy.

I find there is no real separation between the news posts. I find it too hard to read. I also agree on the width, wider is better, its too compact. Any way for us to switch back to Shift if we want?

A few suggestions:

- Rating system doesn't appear to work? maybe I am wrong

- Make the page a little wider?

- make the users selection static on the home page, so they can always just view Linux, Microsoft, Gamers etc etc

When passing over the menu items, "Main" drops down and stays there (using IE7).

Will take a while to get used to the layout (forum posts were nicely placed before but now seem - out of the way).

Does this happen if you try to mouse over the menu before the page fully loads?

Does this happen if you try to mouse over the menu before the page fully loads?

Just gonna confirm that in IE7, if you mouseover before the page loads, it sticks. If you let it fully load, it is fine.

I don't think I'll be liking it though, it's so small and tiny and everything is cramped up. It's half the size of the previous version, why did you do this? It's almost unreadable and you have to click on Read on fr every article. Not to mention that the Google Ad in the middle of an article is ugly. Top menu is beautiful, but it's way too small for my likings. Been here since 2004 and I'm a little disappointed as regards to the size.
I don't know about this one :(
Not liking it, not one bit, don't get me wrong it looks awesome, love the colouring it's very swish but is there a way to change back to v4 Shift?

Some issues i have are:

1. The advertisement in the centre of the screen is far too intrusive.

2. I don't particularly like having to click 'Read on' with every article compared to reading the news with Shift.

I couldn't agree more with all these statements.

Am I the only one who doesn't like it that much :/ ?

You are not alone. I think it's terrible.

i love the new colors and all but it's WAY too cramped. i have literally 4 inches of just blue margin on both sides of my screen that used to get used up by version 4

but now you've crammed more information into way, way less space with 8 inches of empty blue just sitting there on the sides. doesn't seem very efficient, nor user friendly to me

i understand that not everyone isn't using as big of a monitor / resolution as i am but should there not be some settings in control panel for us wide screen users? or at the least let us switch back to version 4 so i don't have to click on every single link in order to see what's going on

I think it would have been better to hold it off and release the front page and forum at the same time. Everytime I go back and forth between the front page and forum it's feels odd to be in the "old" forum

I agree. It's kinda dumb in my opinion to release a new design for a small part of the site, and leave the majority untouched. I don't even go to the front page, so I'd rather see the design in the forums. But that would be true if...

Am I the only one who doesn't like it that much :/?

I didn't agree with Martyn. He's not the only one who doesn't like it. It's way to compact and squished together.

I agree the design look great, but needs tweaking in my mind

1 The ad in the middle looks worng. like its just been stuck there etc

2 The page is compact. loads of screen space not used it needs to scale to peoples screen maybe?

3 the articles are compact. it looks like you have tried to cram as much as you can in so little screen space etc.

4 Just the read on at the end of each item. it needs the old information in there as I look at a posting to see if people have replied etc after i had made a reply etc

But great job

Well, I love it. I really do. The tabs to see software and gamer news and such are fast, as they should have been originally when the idea was first attempted.

Not a single complaint. I also like the "tightening" of the site. I have a widescreen monitor, and reading mile long sentences is kind of annoying. Never did anything about it though, but it's a good change for me.

Big thanks to the team. :)

    • Most boring game ever. Repetitive, empty, predictable, and full of cliches. Total waste of time and money, IMO.
    • Mafia: The Old Country expansion Man of Honor announced, brings back Salieri from original by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe During Summer Game Fest, 2K and Hanger 13 brought out a new Mafia: The Old Country trailer, revealing the game's first expansion. Named Man of Honor, this is slated to add two new chapters to the Enzo storyline that the game follows. There is an iconic character returning to the series with this expansion, with players set to run into Ennio Salieri, the future Don of the Salieri crime family. Fans of the original Mafia, or its Definitive Edition remake, may remember that name as one of the biggest characters in the storyline. This expansion is set prior to his rise to being the kingpin in the City of Lost Heaven. "Set in Sicily during the winter of 1905, Enzo Favara has proven himself a reliable soldier of the Torrisi crime family in the months since his initiation," says the studio about the new chapters. "Now, the Don entrusts him and Cesare with a delicate assignment of assisting Ennio Salieri, a man of honor recently released from prison and intent on reclaiming what is his." Working at Salieri's side, players will be heading into fresh environments as they return to the role of Enzo as a high-ranking soldato. The studio also promises brand-new weapons, fresh vehicles, and charms to collect in this expansion. Moreover, the expansion will add new content to the updated Free Ride mode. Alongside new collectibles and locations, this will add more challenges to beat alongside Salieri, which are described as runs that will "test the skills of even the most elite mafiosi." The Mafia: The Old Country Man of Honor story expansion will release on August 14, 2026, across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. It will cost $10 for owners of the base game to jump into.

    • Telltale returns with The Wolf Among Us, re-revealing the sequel and a new remaster by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Telltale Games, the studio known for its episodic games from the 2000s, had a surprise appearance at the Summer Game Fest showcase today. The studio has gone through a collapse, an acquisition, and a revival but has largely gone silent in recent years. Today's sudden announcement was for the popular The Wolf Among Us series, with news about the sequel and a remaster dropping. Set after the events of the 2013-released title, the sequel will bring back Biby Wolf for a new adventure in Fabletown. This town of fairy tale characters is becoming unstable, with Snow White not being able to keep order as before. "When a brutal series of crimes threatens to fracture the fragile balance holding Fabletown together, Bigby Wolf, sheriff of Fabletown, finds himself drawn into a dangerous conspiracy that reaches deep into the city’s criminal underworld," says the studio. "As suspicion spreads across the city and powerful forces work against him, Bigby must uncover the truth and decide what kind of sheriff - and what kind of wolf - he is willing to become." At the same time, Telltale also announced The Wolf Among Us Remastered, bringing back the classic with a fresh coat of paint. This will include all five episodes from the original game plus over an hour of extra content that will offer behind-the-scenes videos, cast interviews, image galleries, and deleted scenes. The remaster will also have updated visuals and improved UI elements and accessibility features, alongside upgrades to the animations, audio, and frame rates. Telltale has been working on this project for almost a decade now, but if the new release schedule holds, fans will be able to jump into The Wolf Among Us 2 sometime in 2027. As for The Wolf Among Us Remastered, this is slated to release during this holiday season.
