[Official] Mirror's Edge

Yeah - there are some lovely new effects in there thanks to the PhysX engine.. could see them all over the place (shooting flags, plastic effects, etc). It doesn't look quite as 'warm' as the console versions though..

Hmm, only on the PC then. Man, I bought a next-gen console to have next-gen graphics/effects and now the PC is better. Grrr!

okay guys I need some help. I'm stuck somewhere in the last chapter after the elevators, when you crawl down a vent and swing on 2 bars. when I land I have no clue where to go! LOL. Please help.

Also, I finished the Atrium section last night with the scaffolding! It took me forever to figure out where to go. 5 horus of gameplay? yeah right!

Make no mistake - it looks fapping AWESOME on the console still. But the PC will always lead when it comes to having the very best graphics effects simply because the hardware & graphics programming standards are getting refreshed on a much more frequent basis! The Xbox 360 has been out almost 3 years to the day now... and the PC has had that much more time to evolve.

Rented Mirrors edge last nite and to say i'm disappointed is an understatement. I paid ?6 to rent it for a week and i completed on the first nite. Nothin happens its a borin story and once the shine has gone off the first person free running its the same thing over and over again. Its a shame cos i had high hopes for this game ahh wel. Im just happy i didnt buy it that would of been the worst ?30 spent ever

I think its an awesome game. If you completed it on the first night you're obviously sitting playing it for far too long at any one time. It does however get extremely frustrating at times when you can't find your way through a certain section. I'm stuck on Chapter 4 right now. Ahem!

Finished it last night. In my top 5 games this year. I don't understand how someone can finish this in one night. The game took me about 8 hours to complete. Some of the puzzles are really tricky, but solving them gave me a great sense of gratitude, kind of similar to solving some of portal's puzzles.

I've got to admit, the story is sub-par, but does open up the possibilities to a good act 1 of a great story arch.

I might go ahead and pick it up now that I've seen good things about it... My budget is somewhat limited, but I need a new game to play.

Although I love the game, I recommend that you rent it, as it will probably take you less than a week to finish (it took me 5 nights of casually playing it about an hour or 2 a night).

If you are all about perfecting speedruns and beating your best times, then this game will probably last a lot longer than that.

yes starting to get the...hang of it finally. agree that it's not really a short game unless you know exactly where to go, some of it is really really annoying. i mean destroy the house in a fit of rage annoying. i stand by my initial comments: too much ambition, not enough polish from a gameplay perspective. but yes, getting through an act is quite satisfying and the presentation simply can't be beat.

I'm loving this game. Yeah, it can be difficult sometimes, and a bit frustrating if you can't seem to get it right a few times in a row, but it's challenging and that's what I like to have in a game.

traded it with a friend for battlefield bad company. best trade in a long long time, i'm def. loving this game :D

Does your friend know he's just been done over?

Loving this game, just feels so fresh and it makes a nice change to play something different.. just started chapter 6

I was so tempted to buy this game today, but ultimately couldn't afford it :( I want to rent this game and just never return it, haha. Looks really good, and from what DirtyLarry told me from his first mission, it's good.

can't wait to play this

omg, this is so frustrating, i'm trying to do the speedrun on chapter 2 below 11 minutes, i'm doing just fine until jacknife falls down and you have to turn left for an alternative route. the third pipe on the wall is extremely buggy, half the time i jump through it and fall to my death >_< it's so annoying that this is at the end of the level and you have to start all over again, damnit.

    • Alpine Linux 3.24 released with support for COSMIC Desktop and other improvements by David Uzondu Alpine Linux 3.24 has been released with updated system packages, including Linux kernel 6.18 and Rust 1.96. The team also added IPv6 support to the system installer, and they introduced automatic serial console configuration for headless setups. System76's COSMIC desktop environment is now available in the community repo. System76 originally started building this DE because its developers found GNOME to be pretty limited. Plus, it did not help that with virtually every GNOME update, the changes broke System76's custom desktop extensions. As for system packages, the Alpine team moved GTK+ 3.0 from the main repository to the community repository due to its legacy status. py3-setuptools has been upgraded to version 82.0.0, while the old pkg_resources module has been completely dropped. The team also removed outdated packages that still relied on py3-six and GTK+ 2.0. In addition to that, libsoup 2 has been removed because the library was affected by multiple security vulnerabilities. If you're a GRUB user, the Alpine Team said that you must manually run the grub-install command with your specific device or EFI options right after upgrading your system, otherwise, your computer may fail to boot properly with the newly updated GRUB 2.14 bootloader. New installations of Alpine Linux now offer an optional path to a /usr-merged directory layout if you set the BOOTSTRAP_USR_MERGED environment variable to 1 before you execute the setup-disk command. If you already run an older installation, you can migrate manually by installing the merge-usr package and executing its binary as the root user. The team recommends this layout to align Alpine with modern Linux standards, though you should verify your custom scripts before making the switch. Alpine Linux is a pretty tiny (~5MB) Linux distro built around musl libc, BusyBox, and OpenRC. It's been around since 2005, comes with its own package manager called Alpine Package Keeper (APK), and is widely used in modern cloud computing and software deployment.
