Still waiting for th Chiftec rackmount cases to replace current ones..

What kind of hardware do you have in there?

2 x APC Back-UPS RS 1000va

1 x APC Smart UPS 1000va

1 x "server" with 1TB disk shared with some neighbours with movies, tv series, etc

1 x "server" with 5TB disk where i store my projects, work, hd movies, etc

1 x switch 10/100, for shared neighbours lan

1 x router to connect both networks

1 x switch gbit for my home private lan

1 x hp 1x4 kvm switch

1 x hp rackmount keyboard console

In that picture my domain controler wasn't in the server rack yet.

The 5TB server is connected to my media center in the living room.

I want to replace this 5tb server with a new one with a raid5 controler with 12 to 16 channels.... but for now it's ok :)

You share with your neighbors? How cool  And that's quite the setup!

i doubt it needs to be fast as he is the only one that does all the downloading and then shares it all :p that way the neighboors dont even need to download anything :p:P

Yep... The neighbours just access the shared server emule trough the webserver, and the .torrent files go trough ftp... then the server downloads the files and places them in the corresponding user folder.

The shared web connection is limited to websurfing, msn, etc.. no downloads like torrents, emule.

edit:

here in portugal, i guess the fastest adsl connection is about 24mb down.... i have 16mb down, no limits.. :s

edit2:

the chieftec rackmountable cases arrive tomorrow... :D

My new screen joins the family. It is an AOC but it was free, so what the hell...

Ugg!! I tried putting my TV next to my monitor, but they were messing each other up!!! WTF??! What's your secret? Is it just because my stuff is a POS?

EDIT:

BTW, Arizona is so awesome!! So is Fallout 3!!! You're so cool!!!!

Well, first off none of them are televisions but they are all LCD displays. Second, I only have one PC dual screen, my 360 hooked to the AOC and my Mac switchable on the center Acer. If that helps at all I wish you luck :).

Speaking from being an owner of it, I personally love the case. It has alot of room which future proofs it for anything you can think of and has excellent ventilation. Running a quad core in the thing and can run Supreme Commander on full settings and the game almost never stops unless I build a bit over 30 nukes and launch them at the same time. No overheating at all :).

    • Apple are scared of their customers! They have built a brand over the years of "it just works out of the box", but that slows innovation. Samsung's master stroke was the Galaxy Ultra: "Let's cram everything into one handset, make it so stupid only real nerds will love it, some of the features will work, some won't, but the audience will have such a high tolerance they won't care". Apple has no such device and so they are constantly worrying these days about the fallout of creating a new experience that customers might not like. I know it is often cited the reason they don't build a touchscreen Mac Book is they don't want to cannibalise the the iPad market, but I think it's equally cold feet after the criticism Microsoft receive trying to make a touch compatible desktop OS

    • So, an article that has nothing to do with Windows 11, still gets Windows 11 in the title and a build number as the picture? Dell have a buggy build of Support Assist HP have UEFI settings that need unlocking for the secureboot cert upgrade to take place.
    • What I can't seem to understand is that Google are paying SpaceX? Surely it would be the other way round, with SpaceX needing Google's datacenters etc.? Oh well, this level of money and power is way outside of my comprehension at the best of times.
    • "77ee94b helium/windows: winsparkle updater (built-in auto-update support on Windows" If that's what I think it is, that is about the only thing that's been missing from this excellent browser. I guess I'll find out the next time I'm on a Windows machine.
