$5.99 seems a little bit much for 2 maps

It is, should be $4.99 tops IMO, more like $3.99 or $2.99 though.

Although it's not as bad as COD's 3 maps for $10, but not by much (KZ2 calculations would have 3 maps at $9 if they did tier it $3 a map).

yeah I thought it was going to be $4.99 but is just $1 and we get 12 new trophies for trophy ###### like me. :D

A lot better than paying $3.99 for every costumes pack on SFIV. That is a ripoff.

Corrected that for you

You know fine well I think map packs should be free :p

At least a good helping of them on consoles - Some premium ones are fine, as long as they're cheap but $6 ain't cheap for 2 maps. Console DLC is a complete disaster more often than not, aside from the few developers who are fair.

I truly expect some free DLC from Guerilla else they're going under my "developer doesn't seem to want to be loyal to fans with DLC" rug. It doesn't have to be six maps for free, even just a one new map or one remake of an old map from KZ1 at somepoint in the timeline. They talked about tanks potentially coming back (they have them working in the 2006 MP build, you can see it on IGN). Put tanks bank in for free, add new game modes for free, stuff like that also counts (Y)

Although one thing I tip my hat at them for is the speed at which they're patching and improving the MP component. Certain games, remaining unmentioned to prevent wars, go far longer broken. The patch released today has some nice graphical changes and improvements asides from just glitch fixing. Obviously adds the new rankings as well, of which I seen someone with earlier! :o You need 100,000 points for the top rank, I have like just over 9,000 :|

I hope the party system patch is ready for E3 (Y)

Finally reached Captain.

Getting the second Engineer badge to be able to repair stuff is hard :( The Turrets don't do much damage and I need to do 8 rounds of getting more than 5 kills per round.

More people should start playing this again, it feels much better after the recent patches! Especially being able to search for servers between 17-24 players, much better than 32 for some maps.

Also I really enjoy Warzone/dynamic objectives, more than I thought I would.

Yea, my first couple rounds I didn't care for that, now I love it, have to play some more this weekend.

They are pretty good killing. I got that one pretty quick. Good to use them on search and destroy or capture and hold when there are a lot of people. You get kills pretty fast.

One of the issues for me in the beginning was people new to the game that were slow to adapt, either idiots or genuine noobs.

Playing Warzone the first week was hellish with people seemingly not knowing that if you're the assassination target you don't run out into the open guns blazing. That and people being new to the maps, when playing Warzone you really need to know your way about the maps.

That's much better now, probably helped with me playing with higher ranked people as well. I've had some great games finishing 4-3 or even some of the matches that finish in a tie.

I'd love if they implemented a mode like "Hunted" in TFC, that mode kicked sooooo much ass. You have to escort the assassination target across the map and protect him from snipers.

Yeah I think it's just because I hate the shotgun and end up not staying engineer for long enough :p That and right now there's lots of engineers ranking up in the games I get put into, so quite often the maximum amount of sentries are built.

So how is the lag online with this game? Does anyone know if it uses hosts or dedicated servers? I am thinking about picking this up tonight, seems like the "must have" title for my new PS3, the demo graphics are amazing.

Not really experienced any lag at all, it uses a dedicated back end for the server(s) statistics and such.

Plus you have a server browser so you can pick to play on servers located in the EU or US meaning optimum connection speeds for where you live. It uses matchmaking in the sense that you specify what server requirements you want such as game size/game type/map/etc. However the results are listed in a browser, it doesn't just pick one for you automatically.

If you're in the UK you're not going to be automatically paired up with a ton of folk in Australia for example :p

I've been waiting for this in a good FPS for so long! F.E.A.R 2 has a similar matchmaking scheme, but yeah, it's lame online. Reminds me of the Gears 1 and CoD2&3 days.

Yeah more console games need to do it for sure. Most online PS3 games do such as Warhawk/Socom/etc.

I understand the benefits and speed associated with match making but doing everything automatically is for the console tards and doesn't always mean good results. Plus it can put you into maps/servers you don't want to be in either out of taste or technicalities like lag.

I come from a PC gaming background though, which highlights my preference for server browsers :p

Yeah me too, this is only making me want this more and more! I have been so sick of the host/matchmaking you see on most 360 games.

Killzone 2: Battle the Dev Team

Why hello there, Killzone fans! Glad you could make it!

Many of you have been asking when we would have a ?Snipe the dev? event again like we had with Killzone 1 and Killzone: Liberation, and let me tell you that time is NOW!

3502294806_50c4c012cb.jpg

Well, tomorrow anyway. Close enough. At 10:00AM Pacific on Tuesday, May 5 we are holding a ?Guerrilla Warfare? event on the US servers to celebrate the release of our first DLC Pack: ?Steel & Titanium,? and to generally kick some ass. I have assembled the most battle-hardened and skillful developers at Guerrilla Games to go onto the servers and take you through our two newest maps: ?Wasteland Bullet? and ?Vekta Cruiser,? now available on the Playstation Store.

The developers at Guerrilla Games will be hosting some ?Official games,? which some of you will be able to join with passwords provided by the staff here at PlayStation.Blog. If you join those games, we?ll take you on a tour of the new levels, talk about their development and generally hang out. To receive the password and find out the room names, you?ll have to follow the PlayStation.Blog Twitter account: twitter.com/sonyplaystation. There will be plenty of Guerrillas roaming the servers too, picking fights and generally acting as target practice. Also, we will be holding a similar event on the EU servers very shortly after, so no need to all flood overWHATrecap:

Seb ?motherh? Downie

PS: Voting for the Golden Joysticks has opened and us being a bunch of attention-seeking media-######, we always like to see our names in lights, so take a minute and vote for Killzone 2 for the ?Multiplayer Game of the Year,? Playstation GOTY, Soundtrack OTY and Ultimate GOTY here. Thanks a lot!

    • This is a none story - these low volume Chinese models will always get new experimental features first because Apple and Samsung can't produce them in huge volume to meet demand.
    • Nvidia GeForce NOW gains support for Dark Scrolls, Empulse, and more by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The final update of June for Nvidia's cloud gaming service GeForce NOW is now available, and it is touting support for six more games. The company is also drawing subscriber attention towards the summer sales kicking off across stores, so they can stock up on more cloud-supported titles. Of course, the Steam Summer Sale is the biggest promotion, which is kicking off later today. "Supported Steam games can be streamed across devices with GeForce NOW, making it easy to buy a game once, keep progress synced and pick up where the gameplay left off on PCs, Macs, handheld devices, phones, TVs and more," says the company. "In other words, the Steam Summer Sale brings the deals; GeForce NOW adds the flexibility." Don't forget that the GeForce NOW summer sale is still active as well. This limited-time offer drops the 12-month Performance membership from $99.99 to $64.99, saving members $35. At the same time, the 12-month Ultimate membership is currently going for $129.99, dropping the price by $70 from the original $199.99. Here are the games joining GeForce NOW's supported list this week: Dark Scrolls (New release on Steam, available June 22) SAND: Raiders of Sophie (New release on Steam, available June 22) Deer & Boy (New release on Steam, available June 23) EMPULSE (New release on Steam, available June 24) The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales (Steam) FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves (Steam) With the June expansions coming to an end, Nvidia should be announcing its July GeForce NOW plans next week. Keep in mind that, unlike subscription services like Game Pass or EA Play, a copy of a game must be owned by the GeForce NOW member (or at least have a license via PC Game Pass) to start playing via Nvidia's cloud servers. There is also a limit to how many hours subscribers can use the service per month.
