Ok, I think its me...

problem is it lasted more than a day, it was released before april fools (probably because of the diverse group of ppl located around the world), would be nice if it was time zone specific to truly mess with people

It was released about 22 hours ago, which is less than a day, and by that time it was well into April 1st for our visitors from Australia / New Zealand etc.

Firstly it confused some people, I never said me. And I don't really visit any other news site. Is that a bad thing?

And it wasnt a fake news story, it was flipped images. Thats what I noticed.

If it didn't confuse you, what's the problem? It wasn't a news story, it was something else, yes. Again, what's the problem?

Flogging a dead horse trying to explain AGAIN. I've posted a few times in this thread what the problem is. Whatever, its all over now, until next year :shiftyninja:

But my point was, it's only for one day. Less than a day even. What's wrong with having this 'inconvenience' for less than a day when it helps the majority have some fun and mess about for a lil bit once a year? That's all I am trying to understand :)

This "inconvenience" affects the usability of the site. That's taking it too far in my opinion. I would understand if they made the skin pink or something like that to mess with us, but changing how the site functions is dumb.

It's April Fools. Lighten up.

Not directed at you, but I hate when people say this. Saying "Oh, it's April Fools day" is just an excuse. If this were done on any other day of the year, I don't think people would appreciate it too much. April Fools day is just an excuse to do something stupid and get away with it.

"April Fools day is just an excuse to do something stupid and get away with it." - EXACTLY. That is my point :) What is wrong with doing something stupid for one day, just for a laugh? Life is too serious sometimes, it's nice to have a laugh :)

Yes, that would be the definition of April Fool's day. It's not like the date is a secret beforehand.

    • Fire and rehire. Doubt the work contracts are as favourable. Smart tactic using AI to do it legally.
    • > And, of course, it includes in-game purchases. Sigh.. of course it does. I just don't understand why anyone would want to play this on PC, when the far superior AoE 2/DE exists. Just kill this with fire already. Or a trebuchet.
    • Normally you'd just want to use Ventoy, but Rufus is handy when: - Ventoy doesn't work (some BIOSes can be weird) - You're mainly interested in creating a single Windows live USB and not interested in a multi-boot / Linux USBs - You want to automate your Windows installations (Rufus supports creating/injecting an autounattend.xml file which fully automates a Windows install). You can do this with Ventoy as well, but it requires a bit more of an effort. Also worth nothing is that both automatically bypass Windows 11's artificially imposed restrictions (TPM, CPU etc).
