Ok, I think its me...

You've done nothing but whine since it started, go elsewhere if you dont like it. Either that or stop staring at avatars I dont see what the problem is. Just close your browser and go do something productive instead of whining all the time. Notice how your the only one making a huge fuss over it.

oohhhhh im ssssoooooo soooorrryyy for stating what i think, if you dont like what i say then dont reply, no one is forcing you to reply to what i say you also took a negitive tone with me in another thread so i would say your a TROLL

come on guys get things back to bloody normal is more annoying now, jokes over

Personally, I don't see why you don't like it and I also don't see why you are complaining about it?

It's one day out of the year where the Internet is a bit of fun for the day and I really don't see why some people just can't give up their serious face for one day and enjoy it :) join in the fun, mess about yourself - that's what I say to people who complain about it.

You can say what you think, and everyone else can say what they think but we only need to hear an opinion once not 3 times in one thread with nothing but whine in it.

No **** you don't see it. You're not him, or others that don't like it. You're obviously not bothered by it, but some people are. It's okay for people to have and voice an opinion about something.

Of course it's okay for people to be able to voice their opinion.

Maybe you didn't understand my post? I'm trying to understand why he and some others don't like it, when it's a bit of fun for one day out of the year? What's wrong with all images being upside down for one day?

And here I thought there was something wrong with my browser settings :p . Pretty neat actually (Y) . Too bad the devs miss my avatar as it still looks the same  !

Scirwode

So really, how long is this going to go on?

One day perhaps?

I think it's obvious why people don't like it. It makes reading threads / news items difficult. Trying to click on buttons becomes a chore since they spin around. As for this being "a bit of fun", I beg to differ. If this is what's considered "fun" then I think the definition must've changed overnight to mean the opposite.

But my point was, it's only for one day. Less than a day even. What's wrong with having this 'inconvenience' for less than a day when it helps the majority have some fun and mess about for a lil bit once a year? That's all I am trying to understand :)

Thats the problem with this "prank". It was designed to be a bit of fun but in the process its confused, annoyed and put people off. People like myself who didnt like it come across as fun suckers, people who hate a bit of fun but thats not true. Theres fun and theres an inconvenience. True it may be only for one day, but surely there were better ways of having fun on April fools day?

problem is it lasted more than a day, it was released before april fools (probably because of the diverse group of ppl located around the world), would be nice if it was time zone specific to truly mess with people

    • A coalition of publishers sued OpenAI and Microsoft over scraping content without consent by Hamid Ganji Image via Depositphotos.com AI companies often rely on readily available internet content to train their chatbots and provide users with instant answers. This method of AI training is fast and relatively inexpensive, but using a website’s content without permission or compensation is not something publishers like to see, and this is exactly why Microsoft and OpenAI are now being sued. As reported by Bloomberg, a group of publishers that collectively own nearly 400 newspapers has filed a lawsuit against OpenAI and Microsoft. The coalition argues that the two companies scraped their content to build AI chatbots like ChatGPT and Copilot without paying any compensation. The complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, argues that while AI products have generated billions of dollars in market value using publishers’ work, none of that value has been shared with the publishers. The plaintiffs are seeking statutory damages and injunctive relief for alleged copyright infringement and violations of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. “Defendants systematically and secretly crawled the Publishers’ websites—including content behind paywalls and other access restrictions—and copied the Publishers’ articles, stories, and other original works onto their own servers without authorization,” the complaint states. The publishers also described the AI boom as a “death knell for local journalism” if AI companies that scrape content for free are not held accountable. Former New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin and his law firm, Platkin LLP, are representing the publishers. “Our models empower innovation, are trained on publicly available data, and are grounded in fair use,” OpenAI spokesperson Drew Pusateri told Bloomberg. This is not the first lawsuit involving the unauthorized use of publishers’ content by AI firms, but it is one of the largest coalitions ever formed against the free use of content by AI chatbots. In 2024, OpenAI and Microsoft also faced a similar lawsuit from eight newspapers that claimed AI products were benefiting from their content without permission.
