I like gaming. My games use punkbuster. Punkbuster does not like 7. They force me to use Vista.

...and Punkbuster does not like XP, as well? That's news for me

Why not simply use XP for Punkbuster games only and Win7 for everything else?

I love Vista when compared to XP, but I love 7 compared to Vista. Things make more sense, searches really are instant...and cleartype has been improved, which is so sweet.

But certain incompatibilities of third parties force me to use Vista.

Applications I use ultimately force me to use whatever OS has the best compatibility.

Read around, research buddy, Punkbuster works in Windows 7 :D

:)

That looks like a 7 theme for Vista. The orb is above the taskbar and the icons are too small. Unless there's a way to do that in 7, or the latest builds of 7 look more like Vista than...7, then I say it looks pretty fake.

Look at me i can do that!

But yeah, when you use small icons it will do that

I've read have you? It does not work on Call of Duty 4 and World at War on all leaked builds and the official beta x64. I've read around, I've tried almost everything there is to fix it. In addition punkbuster also causes the game to crash, pbcl.dll is the fault.

Have you tryed --> http://nomoregoatsoup.wordpress.com/2009/0...r-on-windows-7/

hahaha, there is post in english addressed to neowin about certain "forum" on wzor page. I guess same goes for anyone claiming that 7105 is RC and crap like that and we will see it leak, like certain individual that so much posts in this topic.... No idea why people actualy listen to others that clearly lack one main skill that is called logic.

Solor :

Anyway ill try to explain what wzor was saying (so people dont need to decode that weird google translation).

Build 7073 was first build branched twice, once as 7073.winmain and once as 7073.win7rc.

Build 7077 was also branched twice, once as 7077.win7rc and once as 7105.winmain.

And its expected that sometimes in next 2 days, MS will decide what build will become RC-escrow build

Thank you Solor for this :p

I'm pretty sure it will be 7105.win7rc

god jesus there is _NO_ 7105.win7rc ... 7105.winmain = 7077.win7rc, however one is in winmain rtm branch already and 2nd is rc-escrow candidate. You are one of those that clearly have no idea how jump from m3 to beta went and now you are talking bull****. We will might see 7077 that basickly IS 7105, however it wont be taged as 7105.winmain, because RC is NOT winmain branch. winmain is INTERNAL "stable" development build, not intended for public.

Any news about piratebay torrent (2.44GB)?

Any news about piratebay torrent (2.44GB)?

It is fake.

There is no such thing (7105) at nforce and a previous release from the same fake group (Win7 7086) with the exact same NFO has been nuked.

So dont download it.

When the real iso is out we will all know it. :)

We won't see 7077 come out, should be 7105, we will see solar, you got nothing to backup. Also i know winmain is internal, so that's why i'm saying 7105.win7rc, probably we will see 7105.winmain, as all previous releases are winmains. i know 7077 and 7105 are the same.

    • Linux 7.2's first release candidate gets off to a good start by Paul Hill Credit: Larry Ewing It has been a few weeks since the release of Linux 7.1, and in that time, the Linux 7.2 merge window has been open, where developers can submit their features and patches ready for the upcoming release. That window is now shut, and the release candidate phase has begun so that new features can be tested and further fixes applied. According to the founder of Linux, Linus Torvalds, this week’s release candidate looks “reasonably normal”. Although we are super early in the release candidates, this is a good sign as it makes it more likely that an eighth release candidate will not be needed. Torvalds even mentioned that the update’s stats are only larger than they really are because there was another AMD header drop with a third of the patch just being AMD GPU register definitions, which aren’t big changes but make the code contributed look larger overall. In addition to this, he noted that just over half the patch is drivers, even when excluding the AMD register dump. The rest of the changes are spread out over architecture updates, tooling, documentation, and core kernel updates. In the next week, Torvalds says that he will be chilling out, taking the week “mostly off”. Despite this, he will be reading emails and keeping up with things, so if he is slow responding, now you know why. He said he is hoping for a calm week, but we will just have to see if the second release candidate is actually like that. We should expect seven or eight release candidates before Linux 7.2 is released, so expect it around the end of August. If you missed it a few weeks ago, be sure to check out our coverage of Linux 7.1's release.
