Codemasters reveals F1 game details

The guy wasn't driving, or the steering wheel feedback is just not there. None of the actions he performed (including switching gears) registered on the screen.

In other videos (like

) you can actually see the steering wheel react in-game accurately, while in the above he (the steering wheel) had a mind of it's own.

Damn, you're right. The funny thing is I'm willing to bet he would have taken better lines

Oh nice, they have the DiRT style replay system - That is by far the most awesome replay system in a racing game (Y)

It came from GRID. ;)

Those recent videos are much better! :)

they could've at least make the car crumple/deform.. and not just have detachable parts come off. They've done this with the Dirt/Grid Series, so unless its a license restrictions, I don't see why not.

Probably because F1 cars are made of carbon fibre, which does not crumple and deform, it shatters.

Looking forward to this game but why do I have the feeling that I will get bored about a third of the way through a 70 lap race? If you're miles ahead, where is the fun factor?

You're that good, eh ?

You don't have to do 70 laps, there's gotta be an option for that. Don't think many people would want to spend 1,5 hours on one race...

I've done full 24 hour races swapping drivers between my brother and I before. Fun times.

Easily the best looking racing game. Holy crap.

I wouldn't say it's the best looking, but those water droplet effects and camera view does make it look more realistic along with the great color palette.

Yeah definitely going to be pre-ordering. I to am looking for an excuse to buy a wheel although I doubt I could justify the G27 :(

You want this one. I would never go back:

Looks brilliant, but I hope there is some way to disable that awful tyre squeal (assuming it is in the final version). I have watched almost all practice sessions, qualifying sessions and races since 2005, and I can't recall ever hearing tyre squeal like that when they race. Only time I have ever heard it is when the car is out of control and heading into a barrier.

    • Being on GitHub doesn't make something safe. Like any unofficial scripts to do x or y this caters to people with just enough knowledge to be dangerous. If you want to do what this does, and you actually know what you're doing then write your own script (or maybe just add the reg keys yourself) if you don't have the ability to read and understand what a script is doing, and especially don't run it with elevated privileges. Or in this case just use an MSA, sign up the normal route, and stop trying to push water up hill
    • Dude get a clue, LTSC is Enterprise, not even legal for consumers, and ESU is not mainstream support cycle, just an extended security updates period.
    • Nvidia is your issue more so than linux itself. I did used it for a while with an old 1060 3gb, but using propietary drivers was kind of messy.
