The Official GTA Vice City PC Thread

Recommended Posts

I'm not going to rush for this.

I am still fuming about the pile of steaming cack that is the regular GTA III for the PC. Yes, the actual game is superb.. but after trying it on a number of different PC's, the bugs & performance issues drove me nuts.

Is there still only one single patch (I use the term 'patch' loosely btw) available for GTA III?

Good call with this thread.

I cant wait for this game. I am really against consoles as I can never fully control them. I dont like using controllers. I like the keyboard much more, so when I played Vice City on PS2, I saw an incredibly potential for PC, and now the time is finally arriving. The first one was so good. Now I have to reinstall it just to get ready for Vice City! The mod community is going to make Vice City awesome, I think. With all the new things like flyable helicopters and driveable motorcycles, the mods should be pretty nice. I cant wait.

I love PS2 control! Whats wrong with it? I know i know! Keyboard and Mouse have more buttons but still, PS2 controller is the best pad ever. Oh yes, in this game u can buy building to save game, how i love that too!

Its mostly that I never use it since I dont own one, so starting to use it for a game that I really want to play is hard and it makes me hate the game in the process, which is kinda unfair, but whatever. So I dont hate the controller, Im just not used to it. :)

Dreamcast by far had the best controller. Maybe some more buttons or something, but the feel of holding it was the best.

I prefer the xbox's, it's like a DC pad crossed with a PS2/Gamecube one imho.

I do like the cube's best for games that don't require precise aiming though (the c-stick really isn't any good for that sort of thing in my experiences with it)

So what are the minimum reqs for GTA VC? I've heard anywhere from a PIII 700 up to a PIII 1.13Ghz. Anyone know? Also, I've heard rumor of Multiplayer VC. Is there any validity. I've played the Multi-Player GTA III and it's awesome but I still want a fully supported MP. Also, are they going to include the MP3 folder again? I loved that. Way better than the crack music in the game. Also, I hope they support EAX 3 in it becuase by the time the game gets here I'll have my new Audigy EX and my 6.1 Surround Speakers and I want the full use of them. I will say this though, the Snd. Track for GTA VC is awesome. Sorry, I grew up in the 80's so it'll take me back.

    • On xiaomi hyperos there's also an option to disable google assistant. I've got everything disabled. Only thing I do have installed is a web wrapped for duck.ai which claims to let you use various AIs anonymously
    • I need to understand the rationale of not shipping all of these K2 improvements in a single update/release. It's giving "we will fix Windows 11 but no commitments". It seems to me that they just announce these improvements just to appease the community.
    • The term "RTM" is long gone starting with Windows 10. Every current release is a GA build. This is the result of MS making Windows as a Service (WaaS).
    • Looks like no official TBW rating, which should be a required listing in my opinion for sites like Amazon (hell, put it on the box too.)
