[Insider Info] Xbox 360 Super Elite confirmed!

Recommended Posts

I've still not seen any news of if this is gonna be coming to the UK - anyone here seen anything yet?

Also, whilst we're on the topic of bundles - I've just seen this in case any UKers are interested:

Kotaku - XBOX 360 Elite Halo Bundle

Only the standard Elite though :(

It's confirmed by AceyBongos, it'll be Game/Gamestation exclusive though. No price is announced yet, but hopefully it stays at ?250 like my source told me.

Sweet stuff there DM - as always:yes:: Is there no way your source can find out which cpu it's got inside?

Sadly not, I don't think that type of info will be made available until it's on the shelf / someone opens it.

Maybe someone at the CoD event will get their hands on it though and spread the word. Although I'm sure we would have heard by now.

Whatever happens, no doubt it'll be posted here on NW soon enough.

aaaaaand my source was on the mark again :p

Their website is down just now, but VG247 have confirmed it. Annnnnnnnd Forza 3 is included with the bundle after all. Unlike the Halo 3 ODST bundle, the Forza 3 bundle does come with the 250GB hard drive :)

It'll be at LEAST a Jasper (65nm/65nm). If it's a newer chipset, all 360s around that point will start shipping with them. Valhalla is expected at some point this year but so far we've not seen it. Previous new chipsets started appearing around August/September so it could be any time soon or it might not be at all.

Either way, you'll be getting at least a Jasper so don't worry, they're very nice machines.

What is the point of making it Game/Gamestation exclusive, its a console bundle, should be offered in as many retailers as possible.

That's only the case for MW2, not Halo 3 ODST or Forza 3.

And it'll be because it's Limited Edition and IW have already gone on record to say it'll be a "true" limited edition. I know that comment was aimed at the night vision goggles etc, but it just shows their outlook on the availability. So there probably isn't going to be enough of the consoles to go around all the retailers. Game/Gamestation were probably the highest bidders on them or something.

The Xbox 360 Modern Warfare 2 Limited Edition Console will be sold in Europe, the Middle East (UAE, Saudi Arabia), UK, US, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Australia, and New Zealand.

I sure hope that 250GB drive isn't only used for these "limited edition" SKUs and that they start to replace the 120GB drives with them. That should give us a hefty price cut on the 120GB drives to clear stock. Good time to buy for me then.

Add to the fact that GAME bought GameStation some time ago...

Speaking of MW2...

Ahhh the good old days in Halo 2 and Halo 3. Teabag all the ****ers that tried to mess with me.

Now, these days you run and gun...you don't have time to teabag the noobs. With martydom and what not. :p

I prefer corpse humping (i refuse to call it teabagging), it makes such a wonderful target and tells me the kind of person I'm playing. Although, the other day I had a pleasant conversation with someone in Soul Calibur IV while we were fighting. The next time I played him he removed his mic, spammed me to death and teabagged me each time he won. That royally ticked me off.

Yes, if only it was that simple. At the moment you can only fit your own 120GB drive and even then it only works with certain models and needs an app to flash the drive. If you use any compatible drive that's over 120GB, the 360 will only see it as 120GB anyway. I imagine when the 250GB HDs are out a copy of the HDDSS.bin will leak and you'll be able to flash your own 250GB too , but any larger just won't be recognised.

I await for this as i did this with my 120gb :)
