I think that wherever you go the difficulty remains the same, I had two characters and went to different locations with each, it was obviously different story wise but it's practically the same, maybe you get more/less access to some quests but it's not harder/easier.

About the armor, you were just unlucky, there's this Dwarf merchant with a son that sells a piece or two for Mages, you can obviously find some in chests or from mobs, but it's like that for all classes.

I didn't play as a Mage yet, but I think I'll pass anyway, the friendly fire thing is a huge turn off..

Enjoying it, but I slapped it on easy, I cba micro-managing everyone and I was dieing quite a bit because of that. I'm a mage. By the way when the **** do you get new armour for the mage? I guess going to the elves forest as my first choice might not of been the best idea.

I feel the same way, the micro-management is not my cup of tea but other than that I am still having fun with the game. What level are you? My mage is lvl 8 or 9 and my chestpiece is still that golden colored one I got early on in the game.....haven't even seen a better chestpiece let alone been able to buy one. I have gotten a few new pieces like boots or gloves, but that's it.

I have a question...

Has anyone noticed if you get XP when your party members kill something?

When I make a kill, or am involved in it, I see the little XP number float over

my head. I do not see it when my party is fighting a different mob than me.

Well I have made it to Lothering. So far am liking the game. Only problem I have is the DLC is not showing up in my list. Once I get home Im gonna use the unoffical FAQ on the bioware fourms to try and fix but so far this is a pretty big fail from bioware(which in the big scheme isn't to bad) as it seems to be happening in many different forms though I believe at least a few are user created. Pretty sure mine is not though.

the gameplay feels too ancient for my liking.

That's what they meant by "spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate."

The early combat is easy. If you sit through it, later on it becomes MUCH more tactical once the enemies are using magic, or outnumber you. They go after spell casters, use effective counter-spells and buffs, retreat and regroup, etc., they don't just stand around letting you nuke them. And there's friendly fire by default, so it's not at all as easy as it seems at first.

The only thing I don't like is how magic users in the game shoot magic like they're machine guns. It's like you're simultaneously shooting lightning out of one hand, magic missiles out of the other, and fireballs out of your ass. :p It would have been better if powerful damage spells took a long time to cast but did a lot of damage, rather than medium damage and such short casting times.

i find the AI a bit clumsy, i set up behavior for my party, and they always just stand there and get attacked

its weird, theres also no auto follow

There is auto follow, check the button the the right under you party list. If it is set to Hold Position, change it to Free Moving.

And I too think there is something wrong with the AI......set to defensive I would think they would attack if something is charging to party with intent to attack (hostile target running straight towards the party). Unstead they just stand around even when its in melee range until it actually hits a party member, then they go after it. Its kinda like "Ohhhh hey theres a monster getting ready to bash my face in! He looks cool!" -2 seconds later- "Oh how dare he hit me!" -starts attacking-

I would prefer it to have a custom AI like they do the tactics, have them set to defensive where they will attack if something hostile is within say 10 yards of the party and do not chase them more than 10 yards from the controlled character.

I was defending a town earlier and found some oil barrels that we set up at the gate and lit on fire and Alister and my dog ran right into the fire and would not come out of it unless I set them to defensive, which causes them to ignore enemies that are not hitting any of my direct party members.....they both died in the fire (along with a bunch of NPCs) and me and Morrigan held off the rest of the monsters. Sadly, something bugged out on that run and it didn't trigger the cutscene and continuation of the mission, forcing me to restart from a save. This time around I left them on defensive and just let all the NPCs fight them (so they didn't push the fight all the way back to the fire) and only 1-2 NPCs died without me lifting a finger.....

Well you can set them to default, I don't remember the tooltip but it may let them attack on sight, or just set it on aggresive, or... manually attack the target and return to your character.

Also, I know that quest, you need to head a bit forward because one mob refuses to run to you, once you kill him you'll be able to continue. But this is pointless now I guess :p

i just got done with defending a town from the Undead and it took me 3 times the last i had to kinda cheat lol i use my caster to pull the guys to ta 2nd group of people

im asking is there a way i can set my ( Casters + Archers to stay @ max range ) instead of changing to melee any way to get themt o drink pots when low on health :p i have lost a few from focusing on the battle and not them lol

I'm a little disappointed ... well no... greatly disappointed about the dumbed down console version, nothing to do with the quality of Mass Effect, I know it's a PC game but damn, games like viking or two worlds have far better graphics; one thing is gameplay which is difficult to reproduce with a controller, but graphic quality? oh boy there are times some enemies and other NPC are ultra low poly and some textures terrible, like a PS2 game (a bad one), anyway, that's me ranting because I can't afford to upgrade my PC now :(

    • Funny, but I didn't had the issue. All PC's at work are Dell and we had the culprit version of Support Assist for about 2 weeks until we got the new one. No problem at all. And for checking you can also use Dell Command Update, no need to search in windows settings. Just check the Upgrade History.
    • YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    • Apple are scared of their customers! They have built a brand over the years of "it just works out of the box", but that slows innovation. Samsung's master stroke was the Galaxy Ultra: "Let's cram everything into one handset, make it so stupid only real nerds will love it, some of the features will work, some won't, but the audience will have such a high tolerance they won't care". Apple has no such device and so they are constantly worrying these days about the fallout of creating a new experience that customers might not like. I know it is often cited the reason they don't build a touchscreen Mac Book is they don't want to cannibalise the the iPad market, but I think it's equally cold feet after the criticism Microsoft receive trying to make a touch compatible desktop OS

    • So, an article that has nothing to do with Windows 11, still gets Windows 11 in the title and a build number as the picture? Dell have a buggy build of Support Assist HP have UEFI settings that need unlocking for the secureboot cert upgrade to take place.
