Torchlight - Awesome Diablo Clone Now Out!

Recommended Posts

i launched steam but got no update is it there yet for others ?

Not out yet on Steam.

You don't need to re-install on Steam as it handles the files automatically with the client, so savefiles should be safe. The savefolder on Steam is in the same place as mentioned.

What about the Modding tools?

They where delayed to get the patch out first, but is priority after patch (according to posts on their official forum).

This game is just like Diablo with Warcraft 3 graphics. Even the town music sounds like Diablo.

You do know that Matt Uelmen did the soundtracks for Diablo, Diablo 2, AND Torchlight?

ahhh i gotta re add my mods i was running

Check if they are updated. Now the game wants you to use the correct method of mods, i.e. adding them into your personal data folder and not the game folder editing the resource.cfg file.

yea only mod bugging on my the Font mod i run im sure it will be updated soon

Hmm... I was kinda hoping the Respec Potions would become part of the official game and not just a mod :(.

I don't want to mess with the respec potion as a mod. If the developers don't want to include it in the main game, then that is a good reason to accept the challenge of making wise decisions with your stat points.

Good to see there is a patch out for a bunch of problems I never encountered :D.

I also would like to see a Ladder patched in for people who want to compare themselves with others. The game is clearly not locked down tight enough to prevent cheating if there were a ladder, so I don't know if this will ever happen.

Yes, it does, you just have to enable it. Read around on the official forums, they've released how to do the console in steam.

I did enable it, after the patch I went back in to make sure it was still enabled. No go for me.

Yes you use it for mods and what not. Not sure what else you can use it for actually lol

I just wanted to use this sweet sword of horror mod I found. Sword that does 1075 dmg + all sorts of goodies ftw!

Jeebus, 1075 dmg any links? Or does zelda not feature in this game

Try to re-enable it again, take all the steps.

I checked again, it was enabled still but now it's working... :|

been playing a bit and i dont like the fact that the game just sorta plays not really much of a world or way to stick with the main story quests.

It's pretty much a straight Diablo clone, which was the same way. It's still fun, but a bit dated. I still liked Diablo better though, the drops were more interesting and the atmosphere was more horror and less cartoon. If they had made a Diablo II clone with a large world to explore instead of just a mine it would have been much better.

Not saying it's bad though, I'm enjoying it.

My only issue with the game is how much freakin' loot drops off the mobs. Is less loot dropped in the harder modes?

i agree. have to wonder what 'rare' really means...

though i have to admit this is one hell of an addicting game. i never got into any of the diablo games so im sure im digging it more than i should be.

The Fame meter stops after level 55 is full even though you keep earning fame, the meter and count no longer move.

Experience hasn't locked yet. I'm at 86.

The skills however, show a next level (11), but there's no way to get to it as the "+" button is missing. My character skills are all maxed so now I'm wasting them on others.

Just as I suspected. I'm already bored of this game. I've gotten gear that makes no sense. Rare items don't seem to be as powerful as non rare items. I see no use in them.

I've pretty much been able to kill everything without dying. (playing on hard). Levels are monotonous. No originality. I'm all for dungeon crawls but there could be a little variety in the levels. There just isn't enough to make me want ot play.

I think if the item drops where more balanced it would be funner.

Is it worth $20.00? Not really.

Yes, it is. Download the mod tools, or read the forums, and learn how to make mods.

You can do anything you want with this game.

They gave the modding tools they made the game with away for free..

    • Zen Browser 1.21b by Razvan Serea Zen Browser is a privacy-focused, open-source web browser built on Mozilla Firefox, offering users a secure and customizable browsing experience. It emphasizes privacy by blocking trackers, ads, and ensuring your data isn't collected. With Zen Mods, users can enhance their browser experience with various customization options, including features like split views and vertical tabs. The browser is designed for efficiency, providing fast browsing speeds and a lightweight interface. Zen Browser prioritizes user control over the browsing experience, offering a minimal yet powerful alternative to traditional web browsers while keeping your online activity private. Zen Browser’s DRM limitation Zen Browser currently lacks support for DRM-protected content, meaning streaming services like Netflix and HBO Max are inaccessible. This is due to the absence of a Widevine license, which requires significant costs and is financially unfeasible for the developer. Additionally, applying for this license would require Zen to be part of a larger company, similar to Mozilla or Brave. Therefore, DRM-protected media won't be supported in Zen Browser for the foreseeable future. Zen Browser offers features that improve user experience, privacy, and customization: Privacy-Focused: Blocks trackers and minimizes data collection. Automatic Updates: Keeps the browser updated with security patches. Zen Mods: Customizable themes and layouts. Workspaces: Organize tabs into different workspaces. Compact Mode: Maximizes screen space by minimizing UI elements. Zen Glance: Quick website previews. Split Views: View multiple tabs in the same window. Sidebar: Access bookmarks and tools quickly. Vertical Tabs: Manage tabs vertically. Container Tabs: Separate browsing sessions. Fast Profile Switcher: Switch between profiles easily. Tab Folders: Organize tabs into folders. Customizable UI: Personalize browser interface. Security Features: Inherits Firefox’s robust security. Fast Performance: Lightweight and optimized for speed. Zen Mods Customization: Deep customization with mods. Quick Access: Easy access to favorite websites. Open Source: Built on Mozilla Firefox with community collaboration. Community-Driven: Active development and feedback from users. GitHub Repository: Contribute and review the source code. Zen Browser 1.21b changelog: New Features Updated to Firefox 151.0.4 Added 'Space Routing', a new feature that allows you to route links to a specific Space. • Windows Server gets DNS over HTTPS (DoH) support by Usama Jawad For the past few months, Microsoft has been previewing DNS over HTTPS (DoH) for Windows DNS Server, touting it as a foundational upgrade for zero-trust enterprise networks. It essentially introduces encrypted, authenticated DNS for the networks rather than transmitting DNS traffic in clear. Now, the company has introduced the general availability (GA) of this feature. The GA of DoH encourages organizations to deploy the solution in production environments without implementing a new client-to-resolver architecture. DoH helps improve the overall security of the network and reduces the risk of spoofing due to its zero-trust design. This is a significant change because pretty much every interaction with the network requires interfacing with DNS. DoH offers several advantages over standard DNS traffic, such as encryption using HTTPS, preventing unauthorized inspection, man-in-the-middle attacks, and traffic analysis. Since it leverages TLS certificates so that clients can verify the identity of the DNS server, it prevents spoofing through this authentication mechanism. Additionally, it's built on the DoH standard defined by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), which means that it should work with modern RFC 8484-compliant clients. Finally, it integrates into the existing network architecture seamlessly and can even run in parallel with standard DNS, so that customers can migrate to the new technology at their own pace. Microsoft says that in the past few months of preview, DoH has become more stable, and customers can confidently deploy it in production environments with proper guidance. Microsoft has emphasized that migrating to DoH is necessary for organizations that are moving toward zero-trust DNS solutions. Windows clients already support DoH, but the latest availability on Windows Server provides encrypted DNS to all endpoints. The company has also mentioned that "while this release focuses on encrypting client-to-resolver communication, support for encrypted communication between Windows DNS Server and upstream DNS resolvers is planned for a future update." You can follow Microsoft's guidance to deploy DoH here, but keep in mind that you need a Windows Server 2025 installation with the latest Patch Tuesday updates installed.
