Argote
Dunno why I like this but I do. What is it?It makes me think of 80's man/machine shows like airwolf/street hawk/knightrider. Don't ask me why that's just what conjures in my mind when i look at it. Well it is a sculpture at my University it is several meters long. I have been unable to find the title of the piece though. 11222111
Was playing around with long exposures and a torch with the wee lad today. Got some cool shots, though I couldn't seem to get images pin sharp. I pre-focused to the height of the torch above the camera but still got slighty soft images - might be due to the torch I was using? Anyways: You can see the dirt on my UV filter in this image  Really liking this little image: I cropped a good bit from it, was nothing in the cropped off section just black. Thinking it may become my new photog avatar or sig image. Any tips on getting sharper focus, was at F/22 on bulb. The torch I was using was LED but the bulb didn't protrude so that when it reached the top of each swing the light isn't pointing towards the camera (that's why the faded trails towards the outer edge of each pic). 4 sleeps! :D Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/850928-neowin-digital-gallery/page/6/#findComment-592005528 Share on other sites

An alternative solution to just stopping down - use a shorter focal length. A 17mm lens on an APS-C sensor at f/8 hits its hyperfocal at just 6.3ft, as an example. I used f22 to limit the light (couldnt get it totally dark) but i just remenered i have an nd4 filter, couldve used that an opened up the iris a bit - d'oh. I'll try that next time. 11222111
Balddragon, really cool shots, did the lamp have the colors or where they added in post? it was a little gerber torch with a rotating lens with 4 coloured gels. I jusy turned it halfway beteween 2 coulors to get the two colour effect you see. Except for the star one - thats a case of multi exposures Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/850928-neowin-digital-gallery/page/6/#findComment-592007424 Share on other sites
