Llawnroc Share Posted December 10, 2009 Here's a couple from me. This one I took on my holiday in Portugal And this one was taken by a friend of mine at my sons 1st birthday, but I've taken it into Photoshop and done some major airbrushing & touchup(He'd been eating Wotsits!!) and turned it into this Comments always welcome, you can click on the images for the full size image

Argote Share Posted December 10, 2009 Wow you guys really have some incredible talents, I could only hope, wish and dream my little D40x and I could reach such beautiful abilities The D40x is a capable camera and should let you do msot of the things you see here. Just use it a lot and you'll start making shots you love. I like this particular shot a lot (critique on it would be appreciated here or on Flickr):

Prince Charming Share Posted December 11, 2009 Proving that good glass on a bad camera isn't as good as bad glass on a good sensor. Or not. :) Based on the fact that this has a better lens (sort of), than my Holga, which has a plastic lens, but the Holga arguably has a better 'sensor' (usually Fujifilm Velvia 50). Maybe that's just a bad comparison. Who knows, either way, this thread needs a bit of cameraphone lovin' once in a while \o/
Argote Share Posted December 12, 2009 I like the colours, and the snowflakes are cute :) toned? Thanks for the comments, and no, I do not do tone mapping or HDR (I think it is abused a lot and I kinda feel it's like cheating) so this is just the shot aided by good lighting and some minor Lightroom work. Prince Charming Share Posted December 12, 2009 No no, when I said toning, I didn't mean tonemapping or HDR - on those I agree with you. I was talking about toned highlights/shadows - split toning ;)
