Bought that a few nights ago. The pre-order bonuses are all crappy spread across different retailers. I just went for this one because of the 25% discount.

Thanks for the heads up! Just pre-ordered it from Direct2Drive. Never thought I would use D2D for something, but that's a pretty sweet discount indeed. :)

Still not sure how much staying potential this game is going to have, but I'm willing to take a leap of faith with Splash Damage. I'm in the mood for a PC FPS right now anyways (moreover, a PC FPS that isn't TF2 or BC2).

Also, I don't know if it's been said but apparently we will be able to run our own dedi servers, and for free. First fps game in a long time that's allowed that I think?

And also it will be available for pre load on Steam:

Yep. A lot of games allow you to run your own dedicated servers. Unfortunately, the big titles don't (like Battlefield and Call of Duty). I'm glad the dedicated server is standalone (which means it doesn't require you to have the game).

The leader of my clan, intox. Gaming (some of you may know us from CSS and TF2) just informed me that our host will allow us to put a dedicated server for Brink on our box. This got me more hyped than anything :D

Anyhow, we should try to set up a neowin server or something.

It must be US-only then. It says the 10th for me:

EDIT: Actually, it looks like an error. 1 week, 4 days, and 1 hour from now is the 10th, not the 9th.

won't being able to host your own dedi server make cheating more rife?

The complete opposite in fact. I'm sure there will be many communities with well moderated servers even if VAC fails to catch the cheaters.

It's actually having P2P that makes cheating more rife because there is no way to ban cheaters.
