These get smart videos, only make me want to skip this game, even more. Way too console-ish and "in your face"

Couldnt disagree more. Im expecting this to be a good team based switch off n play mmo style`d game. For my serious non in your face I,ll keep playing Arma2 :)

Pleasantly-voiced British lady is yet again on duty

Awesome video. I love what they've done with the UI. It's functional, minimal, and consistent with the game's art style.

I strongly disagree. In fact, I think they've done an amazing job with the SMART system. It's new and innovative, and it'll certainly make for interesting games. It's also much better than the standard "walk, run, and crouch" + "cover" approach to most first- and third-person shooters.

Well I do have my doubts about it but it does look like it has the potential to be amazingly fun. I just hope I can turn the weapon bobble down, or off.

Oh yeah, about the release date. The game will be releasing at midnight EST, or 9pm pacific standard on the 9th according to the posts I've read. That's why Steam says it will be unlocked on the 9th for me. They still haven't said when we'll be able to start pre loading though.

like Pupik i really don't feel like getting this at all. however, the dedicated gamer in me cries foul over not supporting a new franchise...can't say i have too much money to spare at the mo. choices choices, huh?
What other choice do you have? Crysis 2 is dead in the water. BC2 is now just plain boring. COD:BO is...well never played so </insert generic comment here>.

I'm unsure how I'm going to react to Brink yet. Hopefully I will like it. I've been looking forward to it ever since it was annouced after ET:QW.

yeah Singh i agree that we don't have too many choices at the moment in terms of new stuff. Crysis 2 is OK, i'm fine with the MP on the 360, it's not great, but workable. i've been done with Black Ops for months and yes, BC2 is long in the tooth, can't go back to that, enough is enough. let's wait for the reviews and the community reaction on this one.

Awesome videos. I never thought I'd be torn between the X360 and PC versions. Initially, I planned on getting the PC version but lately my friends have shown interest in the game. With only Crysis 2 and 10 months of Gold on my Xbox Live account, I'm really tempted to get the X360 version instead.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, don't do it!

For people who are still on the fence about this game, if you order from direct2drive it's on sale for $45, plus if you use this link:

http://direct2drive.tellapal.com/offers/615051861/interstitial/brTQr

You can get an additional 15% off so the total comes to around $38 and some change.. I don't know where it's valid for though, I think maybe US only. Limited time only.

Steam pre load is available now. Also I've read that the xbox 360 version of the game has already been leaked. If true that's

Also from this interview:

Q: Will you be able to turn on/off head bob on all platforms?

A: Yup, on all platforms.

Makes me happy.

Thanks for the heads up - both the head bob and the pre load.

Here's another 25% off code for d2d: sizzle

I think this one only works in the US though, can be used for other games as well.

(The Witcher 2 is $33 with this code on d2d)

There's also a Brink and Fallout: New Vegas Digital CE bundle here:

http://www.direct2drive.com/10839/product/Buy-BRINK-with-Fallout:-New-Vegas-Digital-Collector%27s-Edition-Bundle-Download

Using that code above you pretty much get NV for free and a little of Brink ta boot.

Suppose I should post this in the special offers thread, too.

    • Fire and rehire. Doubt the work contracts are as favourable. Smart tactic using AI to do it legally.
    • > And, of course, it includes in-game purchases. Sigh.. of course it does. I just don't understand why anyone would want to play this on PC, when the far superior AoE 2/DE exists. Just kill this with fire already. Or a trebuchet.
    • Normally you'd just want to use Ventoy, but Rufus is handy when: - Ventoy doesn't work (some BIOSes can be weird) - You're mainly interested in creating a single Windows live USB and not interested in a multi-boot / Linux USBs - You want to automate your Windows installations (Rufus supports creating/injecting an autounattend.xml file which fully automates a Windows install). You can do this with Ventoy as well, but it requires a bit more of an effort. Also worth nothing is that both automatically bypass Windows 11's artificially imposed restrictions (TPM, CPU etc).
