HOLY ****. After watching that video OH MY GOD is this game gonna be amazing/look amazing. Im not a hardcore Halo fan like most, but I appreciate halo and this is just amazing.

I love how they went indepth and showed us how they are working on character models, there whole "lab", everything. Bungie/Microsoft finally made a good ViDoc for once.

I do believe this game will be great, I also plan on picking it up midnight of release ha. What I also like is this is actually gonna be the way an EXCLUSIVE is suppose to launch. Pushing the system to the max and natively supporting 720/1080p. I have faith they will support 1080p natively. Unlike other systems whos Exclusive titles cant even reach the max of the system, this will show people that the 360 can do much more.

Now I wish Halo Continued on PC :(.

@Lingering: Yeah I saw that, Major tweeted about 1-2 days ago. You just need your ODST disc, thats your "code" into the beta. Thank god.

I really doubt they can pull 1080p with that kind of graphics + other stuff. 720p looks more likely if at all.

Doubt all you want, but I believe they will go all out.

The 360 can't pull those kind of graphics and 1080p native, no way in hell.

There's a reason why most games this generation is either 720p or 5xx / 6xx upscaled, because the hardware on both HD consoles isn't all that.

Yup, which is why I'm hoping for a PC release within 6 months of the 360 release. Won't happen but it would be awesome to play this one in full 1080p glory.

Absolutely amazing. OK, I retract all of my negative comments of the last few months. Halo 2 still remains the "wth" moment in the series, but Reach may be the sequel I may have been waiting for since flying out of the Pillar of Autumn into the great beyond :)

There is not enough space on the DVD for 1080p content.

That looks very impressive! However, I'm not gettin myself dragged into Bungie's excellent hype machine once more. I wasn't really looking forward to ODST, and I really enjoyed that game a lot more than Halo 3. Maybe that approach will work for Reach ad well.

Low expectations = low dissapointment. Hope that makes sense.

Hype machine? I have never seen Bungie not deliver on anything they have promised? In any of their games...

Ok your right Sethos but isnt Dantes Inferno native 1080p on the 360 and its look beautiful too.

Also, DVD isnt an Issue, they dont do CGI cutscenes.

@Pajter: What Green said. Bungie has delivered everything they said they would. ODST was awesome but a let down of how long it was. To this day I still love the ODST campaign / Firefight. No sheilds is better then little kiddies running behind trees healing then coming out and owning you(halo 3).

Did you miss Halo 2 and Halo 3? Both were garbage compared to Halo CE. Both campaign's were lacking and didn't give me an epic moments as Halo CE did. Halo 2 MP is above Halo 3 simply because they added live to it and it still kinda/somewhat/sort-of felt like Halo CE, Halo 3 on the other hand is just garbage. It handles awkward, doesn't feel like any of it's predecessors and just fails. It's like MW2, sucks but the fanbase will play it no matter what. I played the **** out of Halo 2 and Halo 3, put my fair share of time into and still hop on to play the occasion Halo 3 match (since it's all people play and I refuse to play MW2 again).

Halo 3 and Halo 2 both were hype'd up and failed to meet expectations. I'm sure the majority of users loved it, but IMO (note PERSONAL OPINION here people) those people simply played for the name brand and to brag about there friends about what they played. I'm not even going to rant about ODST.

I'm keeping an open mind for Reach just like I have for all other games, I will end up getting it and playing at midnight launch. I hope it will bring back the glory of Halo CE and what really made the Halo franchise what it is. But if it turns out to not be, I will not be surprised.

Any online streams of the Vidoc? Really don't feel like downloading off Live.

I am sorry I really truly do not understand what the hell you are on about. The best thing I can get from this is that its in your opinion that Halo 2 and 3 suck but its not your personal opinion

The term "hype machine" describes a personal feeling for me. What I meant was that I got sucked into all the "advertising" Bungie threw at me. Although they lived up to my expectations at that time; I think I would've been happier with the games if I expected less of them.

I can't quite put my finger on it. I love all Halo games. But when I think back to part 2 and 3, I just get kind of an awkward feeling.

Halo 2 was way over-hyped by everyone. Multiple setbacks, restarts; deadlines pushed back, so many times that Peter More had to announce the release date on his right arm. OXM gave the game a roaring 10, which it didn't deserve. In comparison, 3 was no where near that hype. Bungie took a much more sedated approach after the massive backlash they received over how much the game changed from 1 to 2 in terms of graphics and gameplay.

You can youtube the video and download from Bungie's website and or watch from Dhan's post, no 99 in this very thread.

I don't think space is a problem for Bungie. There are no CGI cutscenes in any Halo (not counting Halo Wars).

Space would be a problem. The game already uses the entire DVD space without CGI cutscenes. They would probably need at least double the DVD space to fit Halo Reach in 1080p. Not gonna happen.

IMO and personal opinion are the same thing... you know that, right? IMO = In My Opinion.

You quoted after I changed the typo (not to note).

You've been around the Neowin scene long enough to understand when one needs to make it nice and clear to other's that it is his opinion alone and if you haven't where's the rock? I wanna join you.

    • This looks awesome, I will request access via Steam later this afternoon!
    • Personally, I’ve found that it’s usually worth investing in the infrastructure you don’t want to replace later, especially cabling. Running Cat6A (or better, depending on your needs) during an upgrade is relatively inexpensive compared to having to re-cable a few years down the road. For switches I try to balance current specs with realistic growth. If my budget allows it Ill choose switches with higher uplink speeds which leaves room for expanding later on, but I don’t necessarily overspend on access ports if the endpoints won’t benefit from them anytime soon. One lesson I’ve learned is that planning for scalability pays off. It’s much easier to add devices, VLANs, or higher-bandwidth workloads when your network infrastructure already supports it than to replace hardware later.  What is your budget like?
    • I hate the term, "future-proof." We saw it back in the 90's / 2000's, if not before. You cannot future-proof anything, since there is no definition of how far into the future you plan on prepping for. Best idea is to tell us what you currently have and what its use is at the moment, and we can then offer ideas about some areas that might need an upgrade and other areas that can be left alone.
    • I can agree that it is being used in a small capacity. I worked for a company where their engineers still used XP, and when asked why it was because their sensor software wasn't compatible with newer operating systems and the software was discontinued so they couldn't upgrade the software. Given that the sensors were still in use by companies, they had to continue using XP to support the sensor, otherwise the price to the company would have gone into the millions or billions. Our response was simple: Ok, you can keep the XP machine. But we're removing it from the network. "But then it can't access the Internet or folder shares!" Yup, kinda the point. If someone wants to continue using an unsecure OS they can do, I have no problem with that. But it should be isolated. Simple. I had a fight with a guy in the engineering department for weeks before he finally relented. But we digress.   What do I plan on doing to commemorate the anniversary? Nothing. I have fond memories of the OS, but at the end of the day it's just an OS. If I had some time I might see if I could install it on my Raspberry Pi for a laugh. But my reflex memory with today's OS ideas would probably get me frustrated and I'd uninstall it after 5 mins.
