wow graphics actually look much better than Halo3/ODST. As good as screenshots! (granted only one screenshot above but still!)

wait a min, hold X to swap? That wasn´t in H3 right?

dual wielding is gone, back to Halo1 baby! cool.gif I don't remember reading about controls layout yet but I think X will be same as Halo1 and RB will be for engaging AA.

I?m not sure if its the graphics or the lighting engine as the lights almost blinded me

that?s what I was thinking but wasn?t sure. Haven?t touched H3 in about a year.

Probably both. The lighting is definitely toned down and has somewhat pastel look to it.

It does look great for a console game tbh. I?m interested how the health system works, if it is a direct rip from ODST or not. My guess it is but tweaked. BTW, any idea what the icon in the far left is? Guessin equipment?

No equipments in Reach, may be icon for one of the Armor Abilities? :/

Lol he forgot to remove his gamertag in the game screenshot, might be screwed big time!

I actually didn't know about that until now. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about that. I never used the dual weapons much in Halo 3, and the general consensus on the Bungie forums appears to be positive, so I suppose I shouldn't be too worked up. That said, I did like messing with sword campers on The Pit/Pit Stop with my dual maulers :).

Some new multiplayer modes were revealed by Bungle: http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/14/halo-reach-multiplayer-modes-blown-wide-open/

Not too sure about Headhunter, but Stockpile and Generator Defence sound pretty fun. Here's hoping the new modes are actually good, unlike Braiiins and Run for Cover from Halo 3.

There's quite a bit of footage of the multiplayer in the newest episode of GameTrailers TV: http://www.gametrailers.com/episode/gametrailers-tv/89&ch=1&sd=0?ep=89&ch=1&sd=0

A few things:

1. I wonder if assassinations are mapped to the same button as the regular melee, like in Halo 3. It looks like assassinations are more time consuming than regular melee attacks, and it would definitely suck if you had the ability to kill a weak enemy with a beatdown, only to accidentally go for an assassination instead and get interrupted.

2. T-bagging is still there :). There's a brief shot of an Elite t-bagging... the ground.

3. I wonder if Spartans and Elites will be balanced. I suppose that's what the multiplayer beta is for.

4. New battle rifle looks awesome.

5. Still no word on whether or not 4-player online splitscreen is in. My crew wants this so badly, even if they have to lower the graphical settings on each of the screens in order to do it.

AFAIK

1. Hold B for a longer more stylish assassination or just press it to beatdown.

3. Elites and Spartans are not balanced, if by balanced you mean the same. They are different sizes with different amounts of health, different shield systems, and different abilities.

5. 4 Player local is in the beta, only system link is not.

1. Nice. Just what I wanted :)

3. From what I've read, it sounds like the Elites are quite superior to the Spartans. I was hoping that even after the asymmetry, each side would have their own strengths and weaknesses, but Elites appear to have an advantage over the Spartans (more health, more shield, faster shield regen, no need for health packs). According to Giant Bomb, the Arena games are only going to have Spartans vs Spartans and Elites vs Elites, so perhaps I'm getting worked up over nothing. I was afraid that Arena matches were going to let you choose whether or not you wanted to be a Spartan or an Elite (like Halo 3), in which case everybody would choose Elite.

5. Also nice. That was my group's biggest fear about the game, since we use 4-player local all the time.

I think it's all levelled out except for Generator Defence in the beta, which may not even be in the final game (hopefully it will be). That's always Spartans Defending uphill to Elites that begin downhill. Then there's Invasion which I think is Spartans vs Elites iirc

They would never allow the Reach Elites to go up against regular Spartans in Arena matches n jus normal matchmaking, as that's why they had to alter the Elites in Halo 3 - i.e. the stooping etc.

Hmmm, despite not being a Halo fan this does look quite interesting - Hopefully I'll get to try the Beta and make up my mind :)

Get somebody to fork over their ODST disk :). If you're more into military shooters, then it's probably not going to be a very good fit, but it never hurts to try. Besides, the 360 is pretty starved for competitive multiplayer games right now.

You have to use natal to teabag though so you look ridiculous irl :p

If Natal had support for Halo Reach t-bagging, I would buy it just for that ;).

I believe you are right about Invasion. I'm not worried about Invasion at all (in fact, I'm looking forward to it) since at least Bungie can balance that game mode out on a map-by-map basis i.e. give the Spartans a terrain advantage and a weapon advantage (or a numbers advantage) on each of the three tiers to offset their lower health and shields.

It's going to be immense :jump:

Eurogamers hands on

Hello! Like a lot of concerned citizens, for the past few weeks I've been very worried about jetpacks. How worried? Well, if I was writing about it in a text, I would write, "I'm *very worried* about all these jetpacks. (LOL)."

I don't mean I've been fretting about jetpacks because of their awful carbon footprint, or that I've been panicking over whether or not they'll spoil the nation's youth with idleness. No, I've been worrying about something far more serious: I've been worrying about how they're going to fit into Halo.

I've been worrying that they'll bust multiplayer right open, turning matches into nasty little bee storms filled with buzzing annoyances, that they'll break the game's tight convergence of weapons, environments and tactics, and that, really, they're only there as a gimmick to tempt people back from Modern Warfare 2.

More at link :)

    • Never used the G7 Pro, but I've never had a good experience with that style of d-pad and fighting games.

    • "This Dell 27 inch 4K 120Hz IPS monitor is really cheap after a very long time" ... Lol.
    • This Dell 27 inch 4K 120Hz IPS monitor is really cheap after a very long time by Sayan Sen Recently we covered a really good deal on an AMD RX 9070 three-fan model that's available at slightly above its MSRP. If you are looking for a GPU for 1440p gaming that's around the performance of the Nvidia RTX 5070 you should most definitely check it out. Let's say that you are looking for a monitor to pair that up with too. The Samsung 49" G9 curved QD-OLED superultrawide is a good option that can provide an immersive experience. However despite being a very good deal currently (at $855), it may seem unaffordable to you, or you may simply not want to spend as much on a monitor. In that case Dell's S2725QS can be a very good option as it's on sale at the moment for its lowest price in over six months (purchase link under the specs table down below). The big highlight of the Dell S2725QS is its 27-inch IPS panel with a 3840 x 2160 (4K UHD) resolution, offering a high pixel density that can make text appear sharper while also providing plenty of screen space for productivity and media consumption. The display supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz through both HDMI and DisplayPort, making it suitable not only for everyday desktop use but also for smoother gaming and scrolling. AMD FreeSync Premium support is included as well, helping reduce screen tearing during gaming sessions. The screen has fairly good brightness and color accuracy so you can use it for general work purpose, though photo/video editing is probably not going to be the best match for this. The technical specs of the Dell S2725QS are given in the table below: Specification Value Viewable Screen Size 27 in (68.58 cm) Screen Mode 4K UHD Maximum Resolution 3840 × 2160 Maximum Preset Resolution 3840 × 2160 @ 120 Hz Standard Refresh Rate 120 Hz Panel Technology In-plane Switching (IPS) Backlight Technology LED Edgelight System Pixel Density 163 PPI Response Time 8 ms GTG, 5 ms GTG, 4 ms GTG Horizontal Viewing Angle 178° Vertical Viewing Angle 178° Brightness 350 cd/m² (nits) Native Contrast Ratio 1500:1 Color Support 1.07 Billion Colors Color Gamut 99% sRGB (CIE 1931) Adaptive Sync AMD FreeSync Premium HDCP Support Yes Mount Type Panel Mount VESA Mount 100 × 100 mm Maximum Height Adjustment 13 cm Tilt -5° to 21° Swivel -30° to 30° Pivot ±90° Stand Adjustments Tilt, Swivel, Height, Pivot Glass Hardness 3H Horizontal Frequency 27–270 kHz (DisplayPort 1.4 / HDMI 2.1) Vertical Frequency 48–120 Hz (DisplayPort 1.4 / HDMI 2.1) Video Inputs 2 × HDMI 2.1 (HDCP 1.4 & 2.3), 1 × DisplayPort 1.4 (HDCP 1.4 & 2.3) Operating Temperature 0°C to 40°C Storage Temperature -20°C to 60°C Operating Humidity 10%–80% (Non-condensing) Storage Humidity 5%–95% (Non-condensing) Get it at the link below: Dell S2725QS 27-inch 4K 120Hz IPS monitor: $218.49 (Sold and Shipped by Amazon US) (Was: $280) Good to know This Amazon deal is U.S. specific, and not available in other regions unless specified.
