Game Highlights:

Save Game Importing

This past summer, we learned that Mass Effect 2 players could import save files from the previous entry in the franchise, bringing all of the decisions made in the first game into the sequel. But are decisions capable of decimating hordes of insidious, robotic invaders? No, boosted stats and abilities are -- and according to a recent forum post from BioWare Community Coordinator Chris Priestly, players who import their saves will get access to these as well.

Of course, you won't be able to play as your super-high-level Shepard when you import -- however, the higher your character's level was when you finished Mass Effect, the better bonuses your Mass Effect 2 Shepard will receive. Some of the bonuses mentioned include extra money or crafting resources when you start the game. In addition, though BioWare has said that the game won't have a "New Game Plus" option, Priestly says that multiple playthroughs with the same Shepard will be possible.

I was wondering when someone would make an official thread for Mass Effect 2. :p

Here's some cool screenshots: http://www.gamikaze.pl/Galerie/Mass_Effect...leria_17.aspx#0

And a video showing how to import your ME1 save file (X360): http://www.vg247.com/2010/01/20/mass-effec...epard-from-me1/

There's more: The Mass Effect trilogy is confirmed to end in this generation of consoles. Basically, we can expect Mass Effect 3 to come out on the X360 and PC. (Y)

I've been looking forward to this game ever since I saw the credits roll on the first one. I may be taking some days off from work when this comes out... :shifty: *cough* *cough*

I have ordered the exact same thing :D

I'm tempted to buy it in-store now because of the 48-page hardcover art book as well as the Mass Effect Redemption (Issue 1) comic book.

well i didnt find mass effect that impressive..

and i dont play RPGs..

i just wana ask something

how do i get more interest in RPGs??

i played Fallout 3and i liked it a bit..

but too boring for me :(

all RPGs are. :(

lack of action if u ask me.

OXM has a review in their Feb issue. They say that the side missions are better, but still not that interesting - they say the scanning minigame is a bit boring, but IMHO it's got to be better than landing on planet and driving for 30 minutes to find a mineral to survey.

They also say that the main story line is a bit of a disappointment given that this is the "bridge" game since ME is supposed to be a trilogy.

I'm at work and don't have the mag with me. If anyone's interested, I can post some more details from the review when I get home.

I've already pre-ordered my limited edition and don't regret it in the least, even after reading OXM's review.

Another question, does anyone know if the ME PC port supported the 360 pad?

I have a wired 360 pad for my PC, that would be bliss if it worked in ME2 (Y)

I can confirm it does not support the gamepad - ME controls are much better on PC than 360 because in the console you're forced to use a wheel thingy to select guns/powers for squad whereas PC supported Quick Slots via number keys and weapon slots via Function keys.

I think the controls could be a bit more intuitive for weapon customization though - it's a bit confusing in ME.
