Starcraft 2 Beta

Blizzard is giving Facebook users a chance to grab a StarCraft II beta key. The keys are posted sporadically throughout the day for 3 weeks.

Head on over and try your luck: http://www.facebook.com/StarCraft

Thanks! I'll keep an eye out for that.

If anyone has an invite they aren't using I would be more than happy to take it off your hands. I'd love to have a key of my own.

Do they post the key on the page so that the first one to enter it gets the key or?

Also i wouldn't mind getting a key if anyone got one to spare, but seeing the high demand for keys, i'll guess my chance is slim.

I really don't understand the method they use for inviting people to the beta, i've heard of several people that says they have opted in since the first day, and they haven't been invited yet, but other people that had just registered an account a few days ago, got an invite recently.

Yep, it's bull****. I've given up hope at trying out the Beta.

I know what I'm getting: http://www.vg247.com/2010/04/08/starcraft-ii-collectors-edition-revealed-date-to-be-announced-soon/

I almost feel bad for the fact that I was picked for the Beta yet I can't be arsed playing it, tried a Skirmish vs the AI and never looked back

There are fans out there that would kill for StarCraft II, just so you know. :p

It's a bit about your PC specs (if they're looking to test a specific setup) and a lot of luck - there's nothing to understand or any tricks, it's not first come first serve, it's not who has the most games, etc.

well i've been signed up since day one, and only just got my invite this morning so =\

Hmm, your probably right, but there seems to be a lot of angry people out there about it, i myself don't really care, but every thread about starcraft i've seen there is someone going like "I registered just 3 days ago, and i just got my beta invite" and then after that you have some people raging over it a little, saying that they have waited since the beta opt-in opened, but still haven't got their invite. And i have to agree a little, any way you look at it, it's a bit unfair i think.

Anyway, am just gonna keep crossing my fingers that an invite will bunch into my mail box someday, but hopefully now it's not to long till the game is released, so the wait shouldn't be to hard.

Which is why I almost feel bad, almost.

But hey, at least you got my "Friends" key, I want a public thank you speech!

Thank you, Sethos, for giving my life purpose. I truly appreciate you giving me a StarCraft II beta key. :)

If anyone has a spare invite they could send my way i'd very much appreciate it. I in turn will give someone here an invite when i can.

Same here, if anyone happens to have an invite they would like to send me I'd be really appreciative.

I wonder if Blizzard will send out another wave of beta invites to existing participants. It'd be awesome if they did. And I definitely feel for those without a beta key. Anyway, for those that do have it - add me as a friend: Anaron.dnx

They're both great. (Y)

I got invited to the beta but it looks like mine doesn't require a serial number

I believe it's added to your account automatically. You simply download the client and log in with the Battle.net account that has SCII [beta] on it. (Y)

    • Salesforce to acquire Fin, formerly Intercom, for over $3 billion by David Uzondu Image via DepositPhotos.com Salesforce today announced that it has reached an agreement with customer support software company Fin to buy the company for around $3.6 billion. Salesforce expects the transaction to close in the fourth quarter of its fiscal year 2027, and the acquisition will not change its financial guidance previously announced on May 27. Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce, in its press release, claimed that acquiring the startup gives Salesforce an immediate AI agent that resolves support tickets across email, WhatsApp, SMS, and Slack: You might know Fin by its former name, Intercom. If you have ever been on a website or inside a mobile app and noticed a little chat bubble widget floating in the bottom right corner of your screen, often featuring a friendly face and a message like, "Hi! How can we help you today?" you were almost certainly looking at Intercom. Intercom became Fin just last month, transforming itself into an "AI-first" platform that handles customer issues with little need for humans to intervene. The new name originates from the company's highly successful AI customer service agent, which it launched way back in 2023. This digital assistant supposedly resolves about 76% of customer service volume end-to-end on its own, so the business rebranded to match its primary software tool. Fin's new owners, Salesforce, went on an acquisition spree over the last few years, and some of them you might recognize, like its 2020 $27.7 Billion acquisition of Slack. The last few months saw the enterprise giant buy several startups, including m3ter, Momentum, Cimulate, and Contentful. Salesforce said that when the Fin deal pulls through, customers will "deploy AI agents across" various service operations, which will complement Agentforce, the platform that enables businesses to deploy customizable autonomous digital workers.
