Hmmm I'm getting major FPS lag on low settings :( not only that but my ping keeps jumping to around 500 odd o_O

Yep.. the servers and everything is awful right now.. it will take a few days to stabilize..

I had silky smooth running with AA 4x 8x that other setting and HBO at 1920x1200 and now I can't get it smooth with everything turned off.. plus the lag on servers is awful even the San Diego and Dalas and I'm south west region and it shouldn't be like that.

How does MP compare to COD: MW2? (PS3)

They are two very different games. BF is much more about wide open spaces. Also vehicles are a pretty big part of it. They are really just two different games, at least IMO.

I've only played for about an hour, but so far I'm very impressed. It's a HUGE improvement over the beta for me. I don't know if other people feel the same way, but the hit detection is so solid now compared to the beta. I can actually drop a guy with the assault rifle at long range with ease, whereas in the beta the hit detection was so sketchy that oftentimes I just didn't even bother trying.

Still trying to figure out which class is my favourite, though. I'm leaning towards Engineer, just because I like being a troublemaker in Battlefield games. I'm gonna play some more tonight and experiment a bit.

Nah, like 50k points or some such(I'm probably wrong about that). They've probably been playing steadily since early last night when the servers started going up.

So I'm trying to add people to my friends list...I get a message in game saying I've been disconnected and to retry my connection. I do that a few times then it asks for my serial key again.

Ok our server is up and running great.

Come join and play.

i cannot find your server. For a online "PC Game" you would think their would be a way to join via IP or add to favourites via IP.

tried adding people to, im rather getting ignored by some of yall or it's not working...

Apparently the EA servers died. Someone c4'd the objective one to many times I guess.

Patch maybe? Because we still don't have access to the in game store that has the dlc.

seriously what was the point of a PC, Xbox, and PS3 beta if the game at launch is crashing when starting a single player game, servers are all slow as **** and right now the main servers are crashing. 60 bucks well spent...

To be fair it's hard to prepare for hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions of people all trying to connect to the same game. Even if they prepare as much as they can there is still somethings that will be overlooked. Give it some time and it will get sorted.

i'll tell you one think, i never had these issues with CoD... also not being to toggle crouch is REALLY annoying. I'm just really bitter towards DICE/EA right now...

Pfff back in my day we didn't even have crouch! And when we finally got it we were just happy to have it! :)

If you think its bad now just wait for March 5th when us Europeans and Australians start playing :D

You haven't looked around the options if you can't toggle crouch.

This evening I played mainly on the 360 version with a few of my friends/members from the site, and it was actually smooth as can be. Ironically I did 1000 times better than I did when I played the PC for the 4 or so rounds earlier today*. I did find there to be a decent amount of issues with the PC version after a few hours, namely the stats kept resetting themselves and lag started plaguing all of the matches I was in. As I said though not a single connection issue on the 360, which is pretty funny as I remember when Bad Company 1 hit, the first week was an absolute mess in regards to the servers.

But man, I did not touch medic until today, even though it was my second class behind Assault in BF2, and holy crap do you rack up the points as a medic. Two rounds in a row, over 3500 in both rounds, and neither round did I have over 10 kills, it was almost all entirely from being a Medic. Also not a single Award yet on the PC I do not think, and already got the achievement on the 360 for getting 10 different Awards. It is almost like it is a different game as crazy as that sounds.

So one thing I cannot help but notice on the PC, is I have literally not heard a single person, like not exaggerating I have not heard one single person, using a Mic. Not only that but when I tried, it would not work for me. They say the default key press is Left Alt, but that did not seem to work. So has anyone else noticed that no one is using mics on the PC? And also has anyone gotten the mic to successfully work for them? *Honestly one of the reasons I did so much better on the 360 was the squad was communicating the entire time, which I have not yet experience on the PC side. Hoping it was just launch day jitters or something, just found it to be really strange.

So off to bed. WAY past my normal bed time here. I think I played to much BFBC2 today. (Re)Started the SP campaign on the 360 as well, and I did play about 1.5 hours of it on the PC, and that is where it is really truly noticeable the difference in the level of the graphics from the consoles to the PC. With that said I really do think the MP on the 360 looks way better than I expected, but it still does not come close to how damn good it looks and how smooth it can run on the PC. I know I am stating the obvious, but I am doing so to actually say my hats off to DICE for making it look as good as it does on the 360, did not expect that at all.

How did you get so many points playing a medic? Defibs aren't unlocked right away :|

I'd imagine everyone is on vent/mumble/etc. Moment I started playing the beta I turned off voice coms to save CPU cycles.
