TrickierStinky
The only thing about this game that getting me 'hot under the collar' is the MP aspect of it all, it seems to me a less geeky world of warcraft, it's going to be a tough month for me, what with reach beta, alan wake, this, and not to mention my final year uni exams. CAN I HEAR FAIL :p
Razorwing
Depends why you didn't like GTA4. RDR uses the same engine and same basic gameplay mechanics, so it should feel like GTA4. But of course it's set in the west, which looks to change things up significantly. well I got bored doing all the quests. I guess I don't really like open world stuff.. Although I really like GTA3 because there is a mod community out there .. that was when I was playing it on PC. Now I've switch to console it's ... quite different. Smashing Pumpkin
Just cause it's open world and uses the same engine I'm pretty sure that doesn't mean it's goin to be like what you're fearing RW. I havn't seen any gameplay or read up on it but I know what you mean about GTA UV and this is a new game, I', sure Rockstar will have learnt. Hedon
I guess the PS3 version is inferior, so I am for sure going with the 360 version. I just wish the two platforms could play online together.
Pablo2008jedi
I just wish the two platforms could play online together. I wish that too, I'm going for the PS3 version since I don't want to pay for gold since I play very little games online. The trouble is some mates are getting the 360 version, others the PS3  I don't understand why both consoles can't simply play online together (well actually I do, Sony vs Microsoft networks). Its not like ATI can't play with NVIDIA (PC gaming) etc..

Jimmy0
Just been watching through some footage of the game, plus the GTTV episode that was on last week, and I am very excited for this game. (Y) Just a shame I won't be able to get it on release. :(

Spookie
Coolio. Does it come with the 360 controller and XBL? :) Anyway on topic. For as much as I've taken the **** out of this game for being a GTA clone, having the same wonky physics engine and not understanding the hype... I'm on board, it's a quality game! I'm only a few missions in as I got distracted by the side missions but it's been great fun so far. I've been a bit stunned by the violence though. People get the backs of their head blown off when hit by a pistol. :s

We don't talk about it here. The game doesn't come out at the earliest for three more days, and at the latest six more days if you don't happen to live in North America. So considering you are talking about the game a week early guarantees you pirated the game. It will get you banned and ruins it for the rest of us if you choose to talk about the game in length before it is available for the rest of us to play. Think before you post. Also in all fairness, and not to beat a dead horse (pun intended) he really did not say anything that would ruin it for you. He was pretty darn general in his discussion of the game. My point being if people want to discuss actual plot details, then they can, and indeed are asked to, use a spoiler tag.

Jimmy0
Red Dead Redemption PS3 install only 600Mb The hard drive space requirements for the PS3 version of Red Dead Redemption has been revealed, courtesy of a snap of the game’s box art.PS3 install requirements have varied quite a bit over the past, ranging from very small all the way up to 5Gb. Thankfully for PS3 gamers, the ransom this time isn’t so serious: it comes in at only 600Mb. The PS3 version of Rockstar’s western’s looking like a nice catch. It already been revealed that the PS3 SKU will be receiving extra content, exclusive to the system. Red Dead Redemption is due for release for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on May 18 in the US and May 21 in the UK. Source: VG247
Shreik
Here we go again: Xbox 360 version running 720p at 2xMSAA and the PS3 version is running subHD ( No confirmed number, probably 630p like GTA IV ) with no AA. ...and that's how the cookie crumbles once again...

SimplySchizo
NYTimes wrote a review on RDR yesterday. Started something like... One of the buzzwords in the game industry these days is immersion. Rockstar scoffs at that. Red Dead Redemption, which is scheduled to be released Tuesday for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, does not merely immerse you in its fiction. Rather, it submerges you, grabbing you by the neck and forcing you down, down, down until you simply have no interest in coming up for air. And ended with... In the more than 1,100 articles I have written for this newspaper since 1996, I have never before called anything a tour de force. Yet there is no more succinct and appropriate way to describe Red Dead Redemption. This is going to be one hell of a game! 1 day to go! A word on noted required installs. I feel most of the time they're taking future DLC/Patches/Saves into consideration. For example Split/Second states a required disk space of 7GB when in actuality it only used up 3774MB. I'm certain it wont eat up all that on an install.
