Finally got around to playing this since that last update. Still a gorgeous game at times, the lighting and premium cars still look damn impressive.

Really hoping we hear about major DLC at Gamescom. Would really like gaming changing DLC, like what Liberity City stories done to GTA4. I'd happily pay ~ ?20 for a big overhaul and new game modes.

Yeah, I'm still playing this. In fact, I did the 4hr endurance race at Nurburgring on Sunday in my Impreza Touring Car. I find it such a shame, though, that these minor updates are needed some six months later to put the polish onto the game. After such a long gestation I find it incredible really. Still, they're very welcome.

I too would happily pay for DLC now. I'm a bit surprised the stealth cars haven't been released yet tbh. But I'd certainly fork out for some more premium cars and tracks to drive them on (Y)

I looked, briefly, but I couldn't see it. I think it's only there for multi-race championships, not endurance races. Which I have to say I agree with. The whole point of an endurance race is that it takes a long time; a test of man and machine. Pausing and coming back to it whenever kinda goes against the premise, although I'd agree that it's a real ball-ache. They should add a patch that lets you drop your B-spec drivers in for a stint or two.

The "it is meant to be an endurance race" argument is terrible. No-one drives for 24 hours at the Le Mans - they typically have 3 drivers and switch every few hours. It is a test of the machine's endurance, not the driver's. It shouldn't be a test of our PS3's endurance either. I don't want to leave my PS3 on for 24 hours solid, unless Polyphony are going to replace it when it fails as a result.

The fairest thing to do is to allow saves at pit stops, with you losing the same amount of time you would in reality (which is quite a lot). Or allow saving at a pit stop only after every 3-4 hours. Then it is feasible for those who can't drive 24 hours solid and/or don't want their PS3's to die, plus it is actually more true to life.

A more complicated option could be to have it as an online mode, where you pit and it finds another player to take over.

Perversely, I agree with everything you have said, although I stand by the point I was making - saving the game mid race defeats the purpose of an endurance race.

A four-hour race is about as much as I can comfortably do, albeit with leg stretching breaks etc. I suppose the answer would be to omit the 9 and 24 hour races entirely from A-spec, for all the reasons you described (which are all valid reasons) or else re-work the format of the races somehow.

Fwiw, I personally have no problem with leaving my PS3 on for 24 hours or longer to do the B-spec endurance races. In fact, my drivers have done them several times over.

I don't know if this is common knowledge, but you can assist the FOV manually. Sure, you can use the Normal, narrow etc in the in-game menu, but you can adjust it to a finer degree in the options now. It's sort of hidden though:

Options, multi-screen, tick off 1x1 and then there's a slider for the FOV or perhaps it's called view angle or something like that. I've set mine at 95 % and I think it's better than the default settings.

You have to tick of server as well in the multi-monitor screen.

I didn't know, in case anyone else doesn't.

I actually finally "beat" the game a few weeks back. I still have a whole lot of events to do, which I may very well never do, but I was checking out my 3D TV, and just playing some races not really thinking of beating it, and next thing I know the credits were rolling, etc. Even more strange was because my initial plan was just to play for the 3D, I never bothered setting up my Logitech Wheel, and somehow I was driving great with the controller, something I never really thought I could do and that I needed the wheel. Was really kind of shocked.

im still working on this game. i don't know you guys have "beat it". i'm literally going through everything slowly, online events and all and i'm maybe 50-60 percent done... i'm saving up for the 12 million credit F1 Ferrari right now so i can do the f1 ferrari event.

I bought this so long ago, with the wheel, and I haven't made it past the 3rd bracket... I just can't get the right cars for most of the races or something. So frustrating. I can't even imagine trying to save up 12 million, as the best race I can do will only dish out roughly 10,000 for a win. LOL.

lol yeah i hear that. online events help. i am like 3 million short of it. probably another 2-3 hours of playing it and i'll have the money. that's what i don't get when people say they have "beat it"... how do you "beat" this game, especially when they keep adding ish?

granted it's been almost 3 weeks since i have touched the game, there is just so much to do and still the reason i haven't bought another racing game i don't feel the need with everything there is to do in this game and all the various types of racing discipline.

I bought a few racing games, but I get that feeling like you are cheating on your gf or something, because I know I have barely touched the tip of GT. Ultimately, I have traded in all my racing games except GT and Dirt 3. I just need some time to get back into it, but other games keep taking my attention as well.

i want to get dirt 3, but all i see and read are complaints and videos showing how unrealistic it is and how it's still not a real rally game... i miss the ol school colin mcrae games :( still play colin mcrae 2005 on my psp once in a while...

Ya, dirt 3 totally not realistic. That's why I enjoy it. I got one realistic, and 1 crazy go **** all :p

I found I reached a plateau, where it was slow to progress further into the game. But stick with it, and take advantage of the prize money on offer for the seasonal events. Once you start buying really good cars the game becomes a lot more accessible and the fun really begins.

I have B-spec complete, and I have just the last three enduro's on A-spec to do. I'm not interested in the rallying so I won't bother completing that, but I still want to finish off the rest of the special events, plus I want to gold all the licenses. So still a fair bit to do. Nearly a year on, and I still play it regularly.

    • Mafia: The Old Country expansion Man of Honor announced, brings back Salieri from original by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe During Summer Game Fest, 2K and Hanger 13 brought out a new Mafia: The Old Country trailer, revealing the game's first expansion. Named Man of Honor, this is slated to add two new chapters to the Enzo storyline that the game follows. There is an iconic character returning to the series with this expansion, with players set to run into Ennio Salieri, the future Don of the Salieri crime family. Fans of the original Mafia, or its Definitive Edition remake, may remember that name as one of the biggest characters in the storyline. This expansion is set prior to his rise to being the kingpin in the City of Lost Heaven. "Set in Sicily during the winter of 1905, Enzo Favara has proven himself a reliable soldier of the Torrisi crime family in the months since his initiation," says the studio about the new chapters. "Now, the Don entrusts him and Cesare with a delicate assignment of assisting Ennio Salieri, a man of honor recently released from prison and intent on reclaiming what is his." Working at Salieri's side, players will be heading into fresh environments as they return to the role of Enzo as a high-ranking soldato. The studio also promises brand-new weapons, fresh vehicles, and charms to collect in this expansion. Moreover, the expansion will add new content to the updated Free Ride mode. Alongside new collectibles and locations, this will add more challenges to beat alongside Salieri, which are described as runs that will "test the skills of even the most elite mafiosi." The Mafia: The Old Country Man of Honor story expansion will release on August 14, 2026, across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. It will cost $10 for owners of the base game to jump into.

    • Telltale returns with The Wolf Among Us, re-revealing the sequel and a new remaster by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Telltale Games, the studio known for its episodic games from the 2000s, had a surprise appearance at the Summer Game Fest showcase today. The studio has gone through a collapse, an acquisition, and a revival but has largely gone silent in recent years. Today's sudden announcement was for the popular The Wolf Among Us series, with news about the sequel and a remaster dropping. Set after the events of the 2013-released title, the sequel will bring back Biby Wolf for a new adventure in Fabletown. This town of fairy tale characters is becoming unstable, with Snow White not being able to keep order as before. "When a brutal series of crimes threatens to fracture the fragile balance holding Fabletown together, Bigby Wolf, sheriff of Fabletown, finds himself drawn into a dangerous conspiracy that reaches deep into the city’s criminal underworld," says the studio. "As suspicion spreads across the city and powerful forces work against him, Bigby must uncover the truth and decide what kind of sheriff - and what kind of wolf - he is willing to become." At the same time, Telltale also announced The Wolf Among Us Remastered, bringing back the classic with a fresh coat of paint. This will include all five episodes from the original game plus over an hour of extra content that will offer behind-the-scenes videos, cast interviews, image galleries, and deleted scenes. The remaster will also have updated visuals and improved UI elements and accessibility features, alongside upgrades to the animations, audio, and frame rates. Telltale has been working on this project for almost a decade now, but if the new release schedule holds, fans will be able to jump into The Wolf Among Us 2 sometime in 2027. As for The Wolf Among Us Remastered, this is slated to release during this holiday season.
