I had good fun in the dry using my BMW M3. The wet race is very hard but the 2J is definetly the car to do it in. Just like Schumaker and Button :p, look for the extra grip off the racing line, and be smooth and gentle with the throttle and brakes. The track isn't 100% wet untill midway through the 2nd lap, so if you haven't got gold on the first, restart. I got a 2:34.6 after about an hour of trying. (Y)

I must try that car. I put in a 2:36 in a GT-R Mask with no traction control.

Patch and DLC out!

DLC is not.

just checked to see if i had done the A-Spec Amateur - Classic Muscle Car Championship. to get that buick special car, and its been done.

could not find the car in my collection so did it again and was given a stratos rally car :(

cant wait for the DLC :D

Does the patch fix the online lag?

Patch notes from GT site, no mention of lag fixing :(

[Correction of Known Issues]

- A issue has been corrected where the car would pit in unintentionally during the last lap of a B spec race.

[To Check Your Current Version]

To check the version of your software, press the "Manual" button at the bottom of the main menu screen. The version number will be located on the upper left of the index page in this manual.

If the number starts with "Ver. 2.03", you are playing the latest version of the game.

Forza has GT beat in lighting. However, obviously not in night time...since Forza does not have night racing.

You won't find many people to agree with that. Forza looks like someone took bloom steroids with a cup of rainbow juice.

Actually, there are many that agree with that. Even some of us peeps that GTPlanet realize that as well. I wouldn't expect you to think so though. ;)

If it makes you enjoy your game better, keep believing. I've yet to see Forza produce pictures as good as the best in this topic and I garner more weight through results than personal belief.

You would also think if Forza were the better game on the photography front it would have a topic comparable if not longer than that GT5 picture thread. Wonder why people prefer taking pictures in GT5 ;)

You just keep telling yourself that ;)

Neogaf? LOL...try GTPlanet, where us REAL racers post ;)

Maybe because GT outsells Forza 10:1? I am sure THAT has quite a bit to do with it.

Pictures are pictures regardless of where they come from, look in the Neowin GT5 photo thread instead. Results in there are still far more life like than Neowin's forza counterpart.

And when was an excuse that a game sales poorly to another, an acceptable reason that it is still better? With more 360 owners than PS3, I would think, if Forza was better, it would also have the numbers to prove it.

While I think forza looks nice, it has too much of a arcady look to it.

Yup, general lighting is very flat, apart from when it's hit with solar flare bloom. Then there's the unrealistic colour tones given to cars to try and make them 'pop'.

Actually, GT5 is to arcadey (in lighting) in comparison to FM4, even more so when you get the 80% standards in the photos. Pretty bad actually.

Who made an excuse? AB asked why there are more photos in a GT5 thread? So if 1 million people have the game and post pictures, they wouldn't out number the 100,000 Forza posters posting images?

This is like Fuzzy Math all over again!

Pictures are pictures regardless of where they come from, look in the Neowin GT5 photo thread instead.

I have been looking in all the threads you mention for ages. And yup, pictures are pictures regardless. Forza clearly shows better lighting.

Results in there are still far more life like than Neowin's forza counterpart.

So are we changing the tune now? I thought we were talking lighting? Now you are talking lifelike? Life like what? Life like lighting? If so, Forza has that nailed better than GT. GT 5 Premium cars vs. Forza cars, exteriors overall, GT5 wins in the graphics.

Oh I want to play that game. I can produce crappy images from GT5 of that same car, and I can produce better images from Forza 4 of that same car. I love that game!

Lighting goes a long way to make something look lifelike. If it's arcadey and unrealistic it looks, 'gamey', should we say. Unnatural bloom and the plastic look being bad offenders.

Probably not very productive for you to continue preaching in the GT5 topic, but I'd say any where else GT releated either, as I believe you'll find more people against your opinion than for.

That is part of the problem with GT5, I agree.

You brought up GT5 looking better than other games, not me. Of course Sony people in a Sony topic won't agree with me. That would be like Republican's agree with Democrats or vice versa. Just won't happen.

But we need more peeps like me, who are independent and enjoy both games for what they are and can see the flaws in both. Those people are the real winners.

Ehhh you brought Forza into the topic specifically to argue the topic of games looking better? I mentioned no games at all, merely a comment in regards to trying to beat GT5s lighting. I could've meant by real life pictures you know, I didn't specify games ;) I guess you got riled up at the notion of someone praising GT5s lighting in the GT5 thread and wanted to give your independent say on the matter stat.

Point taken ;)

Some PD magic!

<snip>

Wrong thread ;) Photos are in a different one.

I do still think that PD have the upper hand in graphics and lighting as a whole package there is no doubt about that in my mind. Also if you ever play it in the cockpit in 3D that is an experience to be had :) Not too sure if they have patched in 3D on Forza or not though.

There will not be any 3D for Forza 4, and no patches to add it. Maybe with Forza 5 we will see that, who knows.

I have to disagree with GT having the upper hand though. 80% of the cars and nearly 80% of the tracks look pretty bad. We can't really say a game is aces because a small part of it looks good. If that was the case, just going by AutoVista, Forza would destroy GT5 visually in every possible way.

Here nor there, I like both games.

Grasping at straws there. Forza doesn't have night racing, weather or tracks long enough for endurance (well the endurance part is more about Forza being constructed of simple 3/5 lap races constantly). We're talking about lighting and photomode here, why not look at the areas it shows off it's full capacity. One of those being the ability for lighting to actually change between blistering sunny day, overcast and then night time. A superior lighting engine can handle more than just sun.

    • Most boring game ever. Repetitive, empty, predictable, and full of cliches. Total waste of time and money, IMO.
    • Mafia: The Old Country expansion Man of Honor announced, brings back Salieri from original by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe During Summer Game Fest, 2K and Hanger 13 brought out a new Mafia: The Old Country trailer, revealing the game's first expansion. Named Man of Honor, this is slated to add two new chapters to the Enzo storyline that the game follows. There is an iconic character returning to the series with this expansion, with players set to run into Ennio Salieri, the future Don of the Salieri crime family. Fans of the original Mafia, or its Definitive Edition remake, may remember that name as one of the biggest characters in the storyline. This expansion is set prior to his rise to being the kingpin in the City of Lost Heaven. "Set in Sicily during the winter of 1905, Enzo Favara has proven himself a reliable soldier of the Torrisi crime family in the months since his initiation," says the studio about the new chapters. "Now, the Don entrusts him and Cesare with a delicate assignment of assisting Ennio Salieri, a man of honor recently released from prison and intent on reclaiming what is his." Working at Salieri's side, players will be heading into fresh environments as they return to the role of Enzo as a high-ranking soldato. The studio also promises brand-new weapons, fresh vehicles, and charms to collect in this expansion. Moreover, the expansion will add new content to the updated Free Ride mode. Alongside new collectibles and locations, this will add more challenges to beat alongside Salieri, which are described as runs that will "test the skills of even the most elite mafiosi." The Mafia: The Old Country Man of Honor story expansion will release on August 14, 2026, across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. It will cost $10 for owners of the base game to jump into.

    • Telltale returns with The Wolf Among Us, re-revealing the sequel and a new remaster by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Telltale Games, the studio known for its episodic games from the 2000s, had a surprise appearance at the Summer Game Fest showcase today. The studio has gone through a collapse, an acquisition, and a revival but has largely gone silent in recent years. Today's sudden announcement was for the popular The Wolf Among Us series, with news about the sequel and a remaster dropping. Set after the events of the 2013-released title, the sequel will bring back Biby Wolf for a new adventure in Fabletown. This town of fairy tale characters is becoming unstable, with Snow White not being able to keep order as before. "When a brutal series of crimes threatens to fracture the fragile balance holding Fabletown together, Bigby Wolf, sheriff of Fabletown, finds himself drawn into a dangerous conspiracy that reaches deep into the city’s criminal underworld," says the studio. "As suspicion spreads across the city and powerful forces work against him, Bigby must uncover the truth and decide what kind of sheriff - and what kind of wolf - he is willing to become." At the same time, Telltale also announced The Wolf Among Us Remastered, bringing back the classic with a fresh coat of paint. This will include all five episodes from the original game plus over an hour of extra content that will offer behind-the-scenes videos, cast interviews, image galleries, and deleted scenes. The remaster will also have updated visuals and improved UI elements and accessibility features, alongside upgrades to the animations, audio, and frame rates. Telltale has been working on this project for almost a decade now, but if the new release schedule holds, fans will be able to jump into The Wolf Among Us 2 sometime in 2027. As for The Wolf Among Us Remastered, this is slated to release during this holiday season.
