When you mention that you don't like the lack of LAN support is that because of the latencies that LAN offers or the "free" copies of starcraft ;) ?

no, I mean I can't play lan with friends.

If they have internet then you can play against each other ;) ... provided you don't pirate :p

Say you are in res... you and your friends go into a room and start a lan. (Y). . Cause that's what I did a few years back.. LAN FTW.

My Internet connection went down and I didn't authorize my installation for offline play which meant I couldn't play the singleplayer campaign. Anyway, I decided to play a couple of the Protoss missions in StarCraft: Brood War for old time's sake. It wasn't "awful" but it wasn't "good" either. The nostalgia was there and the sounds were great – the story too – but the graphics... my goodness. I didn't think I'd notice it that much.

Enough of my little story. Has anyone been playing any league games? I'm in 2v2 Platinum (with my best friend, qdn745) and 2v2 Gold (with Sikh). I'd like to get a 3v3 or 4v4 team going for league play. Is anyone interested? I'm not looking for an ultra-competitive team but a team where we can do good and have fun at the same time. I have a Ventrilo server for voice chat (in-game voice chat sucks) so having a headset is a plus.

By the way, this is a good read if you're a beginner (or highly unskilled):

LOL Anaron. I played SC a few days prior to buying my copy of SC2 and the experience was decent. Like you said, the graphics are...my goodness... I found it hilarious that I found these graphics amazing back when I was like 10 but I wasn't hard to impress at the time. :D

I'm still in the practice league; getting my feet soaked. :) I'm not very good but I put up a fight nonetheless. I'm a Pro-Protoss Macro player. If you are interested in befriending me and inviting me to any league games, feel free. My IGN is the same as my forum name, "Skulltrail". I have a mic as well.

I'm rushing through the SC and SC:BW story right now (with the cheats). Using non-scale resolution, its not bad. :)

I'll go!! Seriously though, I'll give it a shot. I haven't the most experience but I don't think I'm bad.. and I'm a quick learner.

just cheese to get out of bronze

Reaper harass since you play T then switch to standard stuff like mmm or mech. Also, scout so you don't get cheesed.

So, you want to get quick gas for reapers, I'd say 9 supply, 10 refinery, 11 rax, reaper. Close to an economical built but still enough to get away with cheese. Then micro with reaper on the harvesters or any units that attack you. Send in another reaper as you as you can and micro both.

If he cant get out of bronze league without cheesing, what happends when he decides he doesnt want to cheese anymore in silver league? He's going to get owned harder. Its better to learn how to play in the league your assigned, rather than cheesing just to get a higher rank. What usually happends is once you cheese to get out of a league, you end up continuing to cheese as you cant win normally in the league you've got to.

In the beta, When you was progressing through the ranks.. there was always a level where if you'd get to, you'd be highly likely to be cheesed against, as this is the wall those 'cheese'players have hit, where the players are capable of scouting and beating your cheese.. so they remain stuck at that level. In the beta it was high silver/low gold.

If you want to get out of bronze, start reading teamliquid.net's SC2 forums for strats and advice.

I am really tempted to get this. I never played the first one and I only play a few PC games, but this looks fun.

How would my laptop run it?

Windows7

Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 2.00ghz

4GB DDR2 RAM

ATI mobility radeon hd 3470

At what resolution?

    • Windows 11 is getting redesigned taskbar settings in new build by Taras Buria Microsoft is rolling out new Windows 11 preview builds in the Insider program, offering users new features and changes to try ahead of public release. In the Experimental channel (formerly Dev), Microsoft is shipping build 26300.8758, while in the Beta channel, users can download build 26220.8754. The changelogs do not contain much, but there is an important update to taskbar settings. Here is what is new in build 26220.8754: [Taskbar] Taskbar customization just got easier. As we continue to make improvements to the Taskbar experience mentioned last month, we've introduced a dedicated Taskbar Size setting, making it simpler to find, understand, and personalize your ideal taskbar experience. We've also made refinements to the transitions between taskbar sizes for a smoother overall experience. [File Explorer] We've improved the reliability of thumbnail previews for cloud files in the Details pane. The pane has also been reorganized so file properties are easier to find and review at a glance. Fixed an issue where the OneDrive shortcut in File Explorer stops working when File Explorer is run in administrative mode. Fixed an issue where the confirmation dialog might display an internal Recycle Bin file name instead of the original file name when permanently deleting a file. [Sounds] Improved system sounds when using Windows in dark mode. And here is what is new in build 26220.8754: [Smart card removal policy] Administrators can now configure Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Windows 365 sessions that use Microsoft Entra ID (RDS AAD Auth) authentication to automatically disconnect when a redirected smart card is removed. This extends smart card removal policy enforcement to Microsoft Entra authenticated remote sessions, helping organizations meet security and compliance requirements. [File Explorer] Fixed an issue where the OneDrive shortcut in File Explorer stops working when File Explorer is run in administrator mode. [Taskbar] Improved reliability of loading the system tray area of the taskbar. [Sounds] Improved system sounds when using Windows in dark mode. You can find release notes for build 26300.8758 here and for build 26220.8754 here.
