So I am assuming they will nerf the Galil then as well? If the AK74U is being nerfed, you can definitely expect to see a rise in the number of Galil users. Hopefully the damage/radius of the RCXD's blast is being nerfed as well.

So far the Galil doesn't seem to have grown more popular. I've seen a decent number of FAMAS users, but I always did. It seems people are actually branching out: today I've seen two or three RPKs, and a couple of HK21s as well! I was using the Kiparis earlier, and it's actually not as bad as I had previously imagined. I'm Rank 44, 2nd Prestige. With luck I'll be 3rd Prestige tomorrow, but I play Team Deathmatch so I might need to resort to the grinding weapons I don't normally use.

I still reserve a special degree of hate for the RPK at the moment but it feels more competitive now. From the 40 or so seconds I used the PSG-1 it feels good as well - I shot a guy in the stomach and wound up getting a one-hit kill, so it's definitely been made into a powerhouse of a weapon. I bought a bunch of guns, including the Commando and the G11. Somehow I managed to unlock Warlord Pro - it's the first Pro perk I've earned in Black Ops, and weirdly, it was on my G11 class. I keep my G11 free from attachments, meaning it was a completely redundant perk when I unlocked it via a scavenged Spectre.

Ok, I feel a bit dirty for saying this but...I'm becoming addicted to Black Ops MP on 360. I know I'm late to the table on it but I've always enjoyed Battlefield more than CoD. However, one of my good friends kept talking it up (especially zombies) and I finally decided to give MP a try. I bought the game on release but the SP, I found to be pretty much crap so I never played it again. Also, the amount of glitchers on the game turned me off as well. I played some fun games today (TD) and hopefully will continue to have good experiences.

I have absolutely no idea on what strategies to employ as far as load outs though. Again, coming from a BF background where unlocks are progressive and no perks. It's a fun way to go about it but confusing to a newcomer.

Some new favs:

Primary - HK21 w/ extended mags and reflex sight

Secondary - Strela 3

Perks- Scavenger, warlord, and marathon or hacker

Equip - Frags, Smoke, Claymore

Primary - Kiparis w/ grip and extended mags

Secondary - Ballistic Knife

Perks- Scavenger, warlord, marathon

Equip - Semtex, Flash, Claymore

Scavenger seems to be a must for these two as I find myself running out of ammo otherwise very frequently. I also enjoy scavenger for the grenade refills.

An old fav (aka bread and butter):

Primary - Spas-12 w/silencer (reduced range feels negligble and actually feels like the spas has more power, plus one shot kills seem to happen more frequent)

Seconday - Ballistic Knife

Perks - lightweight, sleight of hand, marathon

Equip - Semtex, Concussion, C4

Trends that I see holding steady:

AK74u: even after the nerf, still highly used and effective

FAMAS: Most common AR I see due to lack of recoil and rate of fire

Galil: Second most common AR seen

Player emblems with genitalia depicted

Trends I see on the rise in my games:

Shotgun users: i have been seeing an influx of users, mostly spas or olympia but the occaional stakeout.

G11: More and more people are recognizing its effectiveness.

Ghost: Becoming more common, it has been used by alot of people in the past, i just see more people recognizing its advantages and using more now than say week 1-2 of release.

Second Chance: Seems to be showing up more often in my games, whether it be on my team or the oppenents. I have been getting more medic medals lately.

Players treating domination as team deathmatch vs. taking/holding territories and ultimately losing in the end because of it.

I didn't notice any change in damage. If they did modify it, it had to be very slight. I'll play with it some more tonight.

Good, that's what I was thinking as well. The only way I think some people may think the damage has decreased is because they are hitting the enemy with less bullets due to the altered accuracy.

DLC is out already, as of 27 minutes ago.

I'm already running through them right now ^_^

Say what!

Not here, neither on my xbox or website, you damn Americans grrr :p

EDIT: and on a refresh there they are! I take it back Cupcakes

Edit 2: Nope, just the trailer for me... :(. Any one got the web address. all i get is a blank page.

650MB?! WTF Treyarch, five maps take up that much space? ever hear of streamlining and six sigma thinking? OK, i'll just go download my $15 DLC and be quiet, don't mind me...

BTW anyone else notice matchmaking has been crap the last couple of days (360 here)?

    • You're absolutely right! No reason in hell these should be on the road!
    • They aren't going to want to. Most would just go with the 17 Pro and save money. Why would they want to spend $300 for basically the same thing? It's not worth it if there are hardly any changes from year to year.
    • 24H2 rolled out to the Release Preview Channel in early June 2024, so this coming a bit later in the Experimental Channel (formerly Dev) doesn't really say much more than earlier H2 releases that came out in October. I am not sure what the thinking is here by putting it in Experimental, one would think that the 26H2 stamp means features are locked down and it's now bug tested until October? I don't even pretend to understand Microsoft's strategy for Windows Insider Program though
