So, my rank got restored :D I think my challenges were still reset though, never mind, more Exp for me :D

Also these weapon guide videos are really well done, I recommend watching them.

Eh?

Highest settings available = well over 60fps avg for me in SP/MP. Sure you've tried disabling v-sync?

I've done everything. The game constantly stutters and is generally unplayable for me. Even at 800x600. I've customised settings within the config files and everything.

I finally reached a K/D ratio of 1.95. My next goal is 2.0 and it'll be hard to reach it. I have 30,000+ kills and my friends, whom I normally play with, have stopped playing the game for awhile because of exams. It's really hard to play with random people who rarely use their mics to communicate. I tend to play a little competitively and I try my best to help out my team by calling out the locations of enemies. Unfortunately, very few return the favour.

So I see Activision is finally trying to extort another $15 from PC users - I guess this is where I jump off the bandwagon. Not a bad $45 spent! :p

They charge for the map packs on the PC?

lol.

They did the same with Modern Warfare 2. The Variety map pack for Call of Duty 4 was free, but it was "sponsored" by NVIDIA.

Glad that happened with CoD4, because the maps included with that are great. I did end up buying both packs for MW2 (One when it was on sale mind) but won't be buying any for this game.

Back to the game, I've never used the flamethrower attachment. Actually, I don't think I've ever been killed by it either, or even seen it. How well does it work?

EDIT: Thanks for the clarification on "Dolphin Divers." Again, the act of running and then jumping to a prone position is a legitimate tactic.

I too I have rarely seen the flamethrower, other than when contracts call for its completion

Those weapon guides are really good, I was using the spaz-12 and the perks he recommended last night and it was really effective. I ended up with 47 Kills on Havana during a game of HQ.

So I guess I have been under a rock to just find out yesterday that another Map Pack is being released on Tuesday June 28th

http://www.gamesradar.com/xbox360/call-of-duty-black-ops/news/treyarch-teases-black-ops-annihilation-map-pack-with-new-trailer/a-2011061717834112026/g-20100430155437473001

Here's the behind-the-scenes trailer for the pack, which makes its XBL debut on June 28 with day-one downloaders treated to a double-XP weekend starting July 1. The trailer offers a few location-specific tips for the new multiplayer maps ? Hangar 18, Silo, Hazard and Drive-In ? and a look at Shangri-La, the new Zombies map which injects Night of the Living Dead into that other 60s obsession: mystical old Eastern stuff. Basically, it's a tightly-wound cornucopia of 60s oddity, held together with the ability to stab people in the gut for fun. If that notion doesn't hold anything new for you, you may actually be Charles Manson... in which case, your presence on our site is both flattering and terrifying.

Prob going to skip this as I dont know how much longer I will be playing Black Ops...

I personally like black ops much more than mw2. Interesting enough I bought all map packs for mw2, and none for black ops. The maps in black ops are horrible, defiantly not worth 15 dollars, coupled with the lag i refuse to buy map packs for a game that runs like it isnt finished. Buying the map packs says "you done good treyarch, I will support you" I am not giving them that message.

I disagree. While the first map pack release was only pretty damn good, the second is really quite AMAZING. Zoo and Stockpile are particularly fantastic. I recommend you look at that one if you're serious about MP.

But then again I play a ton of MP, so it's really cheap entertainment to me.

I'll keep that in mind, I feel I do play quite a bit of it, have about 30,000 kills (at least i think thats alot lol)

    • Pretty sure you will be happy with the result, good luck and take it slow!
    • Mixed thoughts. I do think MS realized it need's to re-focus on it's core while trying to get people to ultimate pay for AI. My windows machines is my gaming tower. That being said a windows machine I used as a server was just recently converted to no GUI Linux server (and it runs so much better for it's purpse), and general purpose laptop (non-gaming) that could run Windows 11 is using Linux. My work device is a MacBook Pro, and I have a raspberry PI acting as my DNS server, using linux. I honestly have more non-windows devices then devices. I don't consider myself typical user however.
    • Here is how to watch Apple's WWDC 2026 conference where iOS 27 is expected by Taras Buria It is Monday, June 8, 2026, which means today is the day Apple kicks off its annual Worldwide Developer Conference, WWDC 2026. As usual, today's keynote will be full of consumer and developer-focused announcements, including new versions of Apple's operating systems, developer tools, and more. Apple streams its developer conferences, allowing everyone to tune in and watch the announcements live. Today is no exception, so here is how you can watch it. Apple WWDC 2026 will be available to watch on Apple's official website here. Also, you can stream it on YouTube and the Apple TV app on your Apple device. The stream kicks off at 10 AM PDT / 1 PM EDT / 6 PM GMT+1. Apple's annual developer conference usually focuses on new software experiences, so do not expect major hardware announcements. What is expected is the "27" series of Apple's operating systems, including iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS, visionOS, and macOS. Apple is unlikely to introduce major UI changes, but you can expect subtle tweaks to the Liquid Glass design language, particularly on Mac. One of the biggest changes Apple plans to announce today is a reworked, AI-powered Siri. The assistant will be available as a standalone app with a chatbot-like experience and Google's AI models under the hood. If you want to learn more about what is expected today at WWDC 2026, check out our dedicated article here. However, if you prefer a spoiler-free stream, tune in at 10 AM PDT / 1 PM EDT on Apple's official website, its YouTube channel, or the Apple TV app.
    • For we consumer readers, it would be helpful if you clearly stated in the headline if the article is about consumer or enterprise. Then readers will know if the article applies to them or not. 2 cents.
    • At the moment I have my main PC and a test PC on my work desk. The test PC is also not inverted so I am not looking at the glass panel side, which is irritating.
