George P Global Moderator Posted September 15, 2010 Global Moderator Share Posted September 15, 2010 It's a deal breaker for me. I won't use IE9 unless I can move the tab bar to its own line. The combo is ugly as hell. The more feedback they get from people who want that option the better the odds are it'll happen though. Ayepecks
Finally got it to install on another computer. I love the look, but some of the functionality is crap. And WTF moment for the day: why in God's green earth does IE STILL not have a spell check built in? No password manager. So many features that they should have implemented aren't here. I'll stick to Firefox for now. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/938322-ie9-download-available/page/5/#findComment-593154382 Share on other sites
George P Global Moderator Posted September 15, 2010 Global Moderator Share Posted September 15, 2010 Hmmm has anyone noticed a graphics glitch, maybe it's a mix of my Catalyst 10.8 drivers and IE9 but I downloaded a file and click the drop down arrow to pick save as, now the save as is stuck on my desktop and won't go away. Just the menu choice not the whole save as window. Chasethebase Veteran Posted September 15, 2010 Veteran Share Posted September 15, 2010 So far, it's reasonable at best. Nothing special at the moment but looking at it I can see me liking it. The performance from the browser itself is questionable on my system. Quite often I find that it hangs in a similar manner to IE8.Also a lot of sites still render with square corners and such. :( I also hate the white line above the webpage. That bugs me. Speaking of which anyone know how you can force windows to refresh the graphics drivers? Like it does if you change the res for example. Hopefully IE7pro gets updated for ie9 soon (who knows mabye it works now, remember it did when ie8 nfirst came out), then we can have spellehck :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/938322-ie9-download-available/page/5/#findComment-593154434 Share on other sites

torrentthief
Can't send feedback even though i have windows live login manager or whatever its called already installed. I followed their link too and downloaded but that didn't help. Rendering on engadget where the tweets and comments buttons are on the main page are mis-aligned. Other bug is the download manager doesn't open when i download something, i choose save and nothing really happens, no download manager screen appears anyway and the file downloads with some message like waiting or something similar written on the screen, i'm not sure if its because of my antivirus or not. The file was 30mb so should have taken 20s or so to download but didn't get a screen. So the beta is a bit buggy for sure. This site doesn't work: http://krakenbenchmark.mozilla.com/index.html you click run or download whatever its called and after 20s or so the screen goes blank. 64bit flash works nicely, tested it on youtube, works well, not much of a jerk when going to fullscreen either which is a nice improvement. Buendia
Uses too much CPU on my system. Cooling fan is going crazy. Also, what are the system requirements for IE9 to use GPU to render? HENN3RZ
Has anyone else tried to run GTA IV with IE9 installed? I think it uses IE to display web content on one of its menu screens. I think since IE9 uses your GPU that there might be some quirks to work out with the graphics drivers. Here's hoping beta 2 works out any of those kinks and also adds features/options back that are missing atm.
