The button's icons were large, and I couldn't find a way to make them smaller... (It's been forever since I used OpenOffice... lol)

Found it. Lol. I changed the screen resolution to 1024 x 768. This is much better. :)

I'm messing with it in VMware. I wish i could get the glass effect, but its still nice.

i'd honestly say even without the visual effects, its the best looking OS distro i've ever toyed with.

So far my only suggestion is to make the title bars thinner. They seem way to thick/tall.

but over all really good.

Yes, making the title bars thinner would be nice. Especially at lower resolutions.

And yeah, I can't get the glass effect to work either... But oh well.

VMware or a full install?

i can't get the effects of any linux distro to work in vmware, so its not a handicap of Fusion. Mostly gnome.

In VMware... But if it's a thing that affects all Linux distros, then perhaps there's nothing that can be done, I guess...

While installing, found a typo and a character that maybe has to be removed:

typo

remove this?

And wow, I can already open the browser while still installing? Great :p Is this with every linux distro?

BTW, seeded the torrent almost 10GB

Just installed Fusion OS. It's a virtual machine on my Windows 7 computer. I use VMWare Player.

I was wondering why it was running so darn slow... Then I realized that only 256 MB of RAM was dedicated to the OS. Bumping that up to 1 GB helped out a lot! :D

Everything looks great so far! I like how you give the user stuff to do while the OS is installing... :)

Okay, I loaded it, and when the login screen appeared, I noticed that the power button on the bottom-right corner was partly off of the screen... Only half of it was visible... Lol. So that might have to be attended to...

Otherwise, everything seemed fine, except for one thing: By default, VMWare Player had the OS running at a screen resolution of 800 by 600, and it just wasn't... designed for that in mind. Some of the Preferences windows did not fit entirely on the screen, so the OK and Cancel buttons at the bottom could not be reached, and when I was using LibreOffice, it was just crowded. The button's icons were large, and I couldn't find a way to make them smaller... (It's been forever since I used OpenOffice... lol)

So, perhaps, keep that in mind for the future... Anyway, other than that, it was fine. The only other issue I had was Chromium not displaying Neowin.net well, but that's an issue I can bring up with the site itself. Lol. :)

Thank you, and I will look into the issue with the Glass effects and other visuals not working. What I am thinking at this point is that it is VMware, try VirtualBox I know they work 100% snd full screen resoltuons.

Thanks, we really appreciate these uplifting comments from you all, and they will be added to the website soon. I will make the borders thinner in the next release when the visual theme is corrected. Also see the above post for your problem with the visual effects/ VMware.

Thanks so much for finding these! The installer was worked on at the last minute so, that probably explains the typos. And yes, technically any distro could let you open the web browser if they use Ubiquity and link you to something. (Not sure about other installers.) Also I really want to thank your for your continued support of the project by finding and reporting bugs, and consistently seeding the torrents!

Any plans for a 64-bit version?

Brando212 is correct, there will not be a 64-bit release for the version 1.0 final. However there will be in the future!

Why is "additional drivers" not installed by default btw?

Sorry, will be included in future releases!

Any way someone here can compose a video demoing the features of Fusion? I'm really curious, but I can't spare the bandwidth to download it.

I would be able to do that, but at the moment I am out of town for the next week. However, if your willing to wait I can make a video demo when I get back.

    • Weekend PC Game Deals: GTA, Borderlands, Kingdom Come, Stray and more by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Weekend PC Game Deals is where the hottest gaming deals from all over the internet are gathered into one place every week for your consumption. So kick back, relax, and hold on to your wallets The Epic Games Store has two more games to claim this week as part of its ongoing freebie offers. Nova Lands and Tattoo Tycoon are the latest titles you can grab. Nova Lands is an open-world factory-building experience that has players exploring its lands, fighting back against alien critters that oppose the mass resource usage. Meanwhile, Tattoo Tycoon has you taking over a rundown shop and slowly building it and a customer base up in the tattoo industry. The giveaways end on July 16, which is when Echo Generation and Luto will become the next freebies. The July Humble Choice offer was revealed earlier this week, bringing another refreshed eight-game selection to jump into. The July selection is carrying Sea of Stars: Sunset Edition, TUNIC, Neon White, Police Simulator: Patrol Officers, Drop Duchy - Complete Edition, Sledders, Dicefolk, and Our Adventurer Guild to keep as Steam keys. The $15 bundle gives you all eight games from this month's Choice selection. The month-long promotion will come to an end on August 4, giving you ample time to decide on whether you want the titles. Humble also brought out a couple of regular game bundles this week. Up first is the simply named Narrative Bundle, this carries 12 games with a $10 price tag. The games include Roadwarden, White Shadows, Gone Home, Neo Cab, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark, The Stillness of the Wind, and The Procession to Calvary. At the same time, made for co-op fans, Squad Goals bundle carries PlateUp, TMNT Splintered Fate, Murky Divers, KeyWe, Kitchen Wars, Phogs, Human Fall Flat, Content Warning, and Kirtter: Defend Together for $10. As always, there are an enormous number of other deals ready and waiting all over the interwebs, as well as on services you may already subscribe to if you comb through them, so keep your eyes open for those, and have a great weekend.
    • Thanks for reminding me that I need to cancel the subscription.
    • I hope there is a way to opt out of this. Not because I'm against the idea per-se, but because I'm in the UK and I don't have a TV license. For non UK people you need a TV license to watch any live broadcasts from a media producer (Jo Blogs' YouTube/Twitch stream doesn't count). Because I'm 100% sure that Netflix will provide viewing figures to TV Licensing I don't want to accidentally find myself requiring a license (about £150 a year) because I clicked on the wrong thing.
