[Official] CR-48 ChromeOS Laptop Shipment-Tracking

Recommended Posts

That's hits, not uniques.

It could just be 100 or so people smacking the F5 key like it owes them money. :p

It each F5 stroke equaled $1, I'd have enough to buy me one of those laptops on ebay :p

Site needs to update so we can get that list!

It'll probably be this evening, the 3rd batch has only been submitted and not even picked up yet. I would expect those to be marked as picked up sometime this morning, since Louisville,KY international is UPS's main HUB. Then the new ones will probably show up with billing info tonight.

This is so geeky but, can whoever designed that tracker site make the display text go away when you focus on the text box? It's a great service but, that little touch would push it just that much farther.

This guy made it - http://slickdeals.net/forums/member.php?u=649385

It's just a scan, I think he has it scan/update every few hours.. There's nothing new that I see.

The scan has been changing, however the 'update' has not had any changes up until just a few minutes ago. My guess however is nothing has happened yet anyway. I would suspect somtime this afternoon we will start to see things updated (new outgoing)

found a site that will track them if you put in a city, state and zip it will tell you how many are coming to that town.

Still have my fingers crossed but the chances of getting my hand on one I am sure will be slim to none. I even sent one to my parents house in their name so maybe they will get it for me. :D

^THIS

was posted a few pages back, but it doesn't hurt to post it again since people will be coming in late and we can't sticky something on the OP.

Sorry about that have not been following the thread since before the weekend.

Can the Cr48 play videos (mp4, mkv, avi) off a shared network folder?

As it does not have any video player I would venture to say no, however you can play them if you had some sort of web player perhaps like ORB.

Just out of curiosity, can these laptops (like most others) support a different OS? I've seen no mention saying they cannot but I am more curious about it now.

Of course I'd not replace Chromium OS with anything but like as I said I am just curious. :)

    • Being on GitHub doesn't make something safe. Like any unofficial scripts to do x or y this caters to people with just enough knowledge to be dangerous. If you want to do what this does, and you actually know what you're doing then write your own script (or maybe just add the reg keys yourself) if you don't have the ability to read and understand what a script is doing, and especially don't run it with elevated privileges. Or in this case just use an MSA, sign up the normal route, and stop trying to push water up hill
    • Dude get a clue, LTSC is Enterprise, not even legal for consumers, and ESU is not mainstream support cycle, just an extended security updates period.
    • Nvidia is your issue more so than linux itself. I did used it for a while with an old 1060 3gb, but using propietary drivers was kind of messy.
