[Official] CR-48 ChromeOS Laptop Shipment-Tracking

Recommended Posts

Oh I see. What is the difference between ground & overnight shipping? If a package is headed to my zip code by ground, does it mean I won't get it before 10:30AM, like an overnight shipment would?

I'm not sure the exact time frame for ground but i think it's before 9pm (maybe even 10pm these days).

Also: The package that I was tracking was delivered... just not to me... :( Maybe the next one? I've never really had good luck with these things...

Correct. I've heard that they sometimes hire an Ethiopian runner to hand deliver the package under certain circumstances. jk :p

The package scheduled for delivery has arrive in my state and is slated for delivery tomorrow!

Very cool bro! So, you're in Mass.? That means you have a 1 in 6,593,587 chance (as of 2009) of it coming directly to you! Best of luck lolol

Since I'm sure he knows the ZIP code it is going to, he has a much better chance than that.

Man this really sucks, there are over 20 of them being shipped the the Raleigh/Durham area within the next few days and not a single one east of there is showing any packages. I live 50 miles east of Raleigh :(

I was just looking to see how many fools were trying to sell these on eBay today, and came across this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Google-Chrome-OS-CR-48-notebook-Box-/330508290191?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4cf3d4488f

Good for a laugh anyway!!

And only one to 27614, and not me. realmad.gif

Actually, I saw that one too. At least the guy is trying to help people avoid legal issues with the buying and selling of these machines. And some of the replies he got are simply rude.

Oh hells yeah. I got one.

Also... what's with that $11000 fake auction? XD

Did you actually bother to READ it? He is trying to warn people about buying CR-48's on eBay, since anyone selling them is violating their user agreement.

I'm actually wondering if the seller will get smacked with the sales percentage that eBay takes from every auction. At a couple of percent, he might have a multi-hundred dollar bill added to his seller charges tab.

Obviously the bidder won't pay that price, but I wonder how it all works out for the seller. Though, I'm sure crap like this happens all the time on eBay.

He can simply cancel the auction before it ends to avoid that. He specifically warns people NOT to bid on the auction, but of course some people, being the morons that they are, still bid on it.

I love the fact that somebody is going to report the auction because what he's doing is against the policy of ebay, and when the warning the guy made is about people who are not only going against the policy of ebay, but against the TOS from Google. Yay for idiots!

That's just downright hilarious. I do wonder if you can do all of that on the notebook... Next thing you know we'll have potato chips with burns that look like a Cr-48 instead of Jesus.

Prowled the tracker and there are still no packages going anywhere near me.

Of course I read it. The question isn't why the auction exists... it's why it has 36 bids and is currently at $11100.

People just like to be funny and make fools of themselves. I guarantee that most of the people putting those QAs on there are sellers of a notebook, were wishing to sell them, felt like being total jerks, wanted to look smart but failed, or a combination of the above.

    • Unofficial script lets you install unreleased Windows 11 features without Microsoft Account by Sayan Sen Microsoft has been steadily evolving the Windows Insider Program over the years, introducing new channels and testing paths that allow enthusiasts to experience upcoming and yet-to-be-released Windows features (some interesting hidden ones too) before they reach the public. However, one long-standing requirement has remained largely unchanged as users are generally expected to enroll in the Program and with a Microsoft account. That's where a third-party tool called "OfflineInsiderEnroll" can help. OfflineInsiderEnroll is said to be a lightweight script that enables access to Windows Insider Program builds on systems that are not signed in with a Microsoft account. Essentially the tool configures the necessary Insider settings locally and hence allows users to select and switch between available preview channels while continuing to receive builds through the normal Windows Update channel. If you are wondering how it manages to do so, it is made possible by a Registry value known as TestFlags. When configured to"0x20", Windows stops communicating with Microsoft's online Insider enrollment services thus preventing locally configured Insider settings from being overwritten. This allows the script to apply its own channel configuration directly through the Registry as Windows Update does not verify whether a device has been officially enrolled in the Insider Program or not. Previously the utility has had already supported the traditional Insider branches including Dev, Beta, and Release Preview. However following Microsoft’s recent restructuring of its preview channels, the script has now been updated. The latest OfflineInsiderEnroll version, 2.6.6, adds support for the newly introduced Insider channel lineup. As such, users can now choose from several Experimental channels in addition to Beta and Release Preview options. The update also retains tools for refreshing the Insider cache, resetting Insider settings, and completely stopping Insider enrollment when needed. Keep in mind though that will need elevated privileges when running the script (run as Admin). You can get the latest version of OfflineInsiderEnroll from this page on its official GitHub repo.
    • The "Classic" Outlook has done that for a few years as well. The option to even change that is really hidden away too... It really shouldn't be hard to respect user defaults. Sadly we are the product now, not Outlook. To change in the Classic Outlook: File > Options > Advanced > change "Open hyperlinks from Outlook in"

    • Vivaldi 8.0.4033.44 is out.
    • For the purpose that it was built for, it’s a great machine. It’s okay to own multiple machines, it’s okay for machines to be different. If every computer was the same, they’d be boring af.
