Yeah did not get to play tonight, but as I said, I will have a decent amount of time Saturday late morning-afternoon (eastern time US) to play, and I plan on doing just that.

So if anyone may be interested in squading up on the PC this Saturday at those times approximately, post here, and will hit you up on Saturday, and also try to provide a more exact time frame Friday night.

I can probably get on mid-morning pacific time. I'll probably just hop on and see if you are playing and join up.

You guys ever used TeamSpeak for BF3? Wondering if its worth it or not - really can't believe there is no voice support.

Yep I have used it before, both that and Ventrillo. It was like $4 a month to rent or something when my buddy did it, so even though we only used it a few times, it was cheap enough to warrant the cost. But yeah I agree, really is so stupid. I hate it actually, as I would much rather just log into the game and have VOIP right there.

Just got a vent server for my wow guild, and as a BF3 hang out. ?5 a month for a 25 slot server. Most places do them for sub ?5 for atleast a 20 slot.

I was paying ?2.50 for a 10 slot a while back, but it wasn`t big enough really.

Keep in mind also that if you have a group of online friends (and or RL mates) they`re good as chat/comms servers.

Having a chat server for BF3 makes a huge diff to gameplay, especially if everyones on it and the sides are split. Its the diff between un-organized chaos and war.

TS/Vent and OpFlashPoint, > all BF still for me. But its so clunky that Id choose BF over it anyday now :/

a clan i was in used it. Made the game much easier because you could talk and be more strategic and tactical, as you could in real life. So if someone spotted an enemy, they would say so. Much easier and more helpful than text chat. I became annoyed with being on Teamspeak wit that clan after a while because they'd have casual chats about everything but the game, ha.

Are you guys in the Neowin platoon? I did a search for a neowin one and found this

http://battlelog.bat...55391301834214/

I just sent my request to be a member of it :D

Yep, I am in there. It would be nice if Battlelog was a bit easier to use. For example, the Com Chat. I'd like to be able to just pull up the Neowin platoon list and see who is on. As it is now, you have to navigate a few screens deep.

Played a bit today but I played on Classic map rotations. Still getting used to the keyboard/mouse for vehicles. Is it possible to have a Dual Shock connected and only use that for flying?

Been playing for about 90 minutes now, no one was around so just went lone wolf, and DAMN, I love this game. I truly do. I have no problem at all saying it is by far my favorite online MP FPS. Truly and sincerely. There has been some competition over the years, mainly UT2k4 and CS, both of which I also really liked playing, but there is no experience quite like Battlefield. And honestly, these Armored Kill maps were made for me, someone who has always preferred the vehicular element of the game to the on-foot combat, although I do absolutely enjoy it as well. However vehicles are for me what Battlefield is all about.

No game IMO even comes close to the rush of adrenaline I get while playing the game the way I prefer to play it. Just now I was on Death Valley and the enemy was holding down Flag F. I had spawned all the way back at base, so I took a good 1-2 minute drive to make my way to F. Was just cruising in my tank. I was able to come in "the back way" to F and wound up behind 3 enemy tanks. By the time they realized I was behind them, 2 tanks were down with 3 killed, and although the 3 tanks combined were able to get me down to 10% armor, I hopped out and took out the 3rd tank on foot with an RPG for 2 more kills. I then repaired my tank and went on my way with a 5 kill streak in under 30 seconds. I know other people who like using vehicles in the game have very similar experiences to that one. As I started this paragraph out by saying, no game comes close to creating that kind of gameplay experience, again IMHO.

Not much else to say. I know BF is not everyones cup of tea, but it is no doubt mine. Really happy with the fact that purchasing Premium got me playing the game again, I had neglected it for a few months. Main reason being is I know it is THE game that I can go back to no matter what and have fun playing it. What a damn good series.

This, sums up how I feel about BF. Im kinda back on Wow at mo but when its FPS mode BF is just the ultimate for me. Some of the epic moments Ive had are well.... EPIC!

I'm going to be playing as much as I can the next couple days if folks are on. For me, I've been playing a lot of vanilla though. Still trying to get used to PC controls and intricacies within the game. Finally feel a bit comfortable with vehicles, although I wish there was a way to get to chase camera by default. Might just have to bind a button to my mouse. I love getting the smaller vehicles (Growler, ATV, Humvee) because I can roam around the map and switch between driver and gunner at ease - plus, you can transport a team into a cap point, although this doesn't happen often as it should due to lack of teamwork.

Also, found out I can control the jet much easier with WASD and arrow keys instead of the damn mouse. So much easier. I'll try to hop on some AK tonight. Have always preferred Conquest to Rush so for me its just a great DLC.

(Also, had to laugh at my current K/D. As assault medic, I'm like a kamikaze to a fault, trying to revive and making sure I get aid packs into heated spots. Truly pathetic  )

Woah, I thought my COD .6 K/D Ratio was bad. :s :D Did you reset your stats since you are a Premium member yet? If not, just go ahead and keep playing crazy, get a feel for the game, then reset them. Pretty cool little feature for Premium members, although I am staying put for now, no way I am ever going to get better than the 1.5 I have now, and it is probably going to get worse playing AK (before I touched AK had a 1.65), but honestly I am way past the days of caring. My K/D ratio is always under 1, just Battlefield I have historically been decent at so it is the one and only game pretty much I usually keep a bit higher. Was able to keep a 1.1 in BF2. My 3.1 K/D ratio in a tank was something I was always proud of though. :D I also somehow was able to get a Kill Streak of 32 in BF2, that is crazy considering in BF3 my highest Kill Streak is 17 (I think, that seems to high TBH).

Wow, impressive! Yeah, I'm not one to care really. I actually care more about my win/loss ratio, which is pretty good right now and has always been decent since I've been tracking it from BF2. 3.1 with a tank is awesome as those things are incoming fire magnets!

edit - Do you guys ever get Battlelog hangups when launching from the BF3 icon? Sometimes it will open my browser (chrome) but the site never loads.

Now you can get BF3 for 10?, LOL! Limited offer only for today!

Yep, this is indeed true.

Link to email sent out.

So yeah, BF3 for $10 is pretty insane.

BF3_10Bucks.jpg

It is in fact all BF games.

oh... the way i read your post made it seem like you were playing BC2 because you missed that gamemode. nvm then :p

i tried playing BC2 but hate the mouse controls. Has a much clunkier feeling than BF3. I don't remember it being like that, could be my mouse, no idea.

I played the hell out of BC2 but that was on 360. Shame to hear the controls aren't tight on PC - I almost pulled the trigger on it.

And I meant from my earlier post was that I never realized what Conquest Assault was on the BF3 MP page  I had just been playing Conquest and some Rush. Finally looked into CA and it was exactly what I was used to. Apologies

    • KillerPDF 1.5.1 by Razvan Serea KillerPDF is a lightweight, portable PDF editor for Windows built for users who want full control without subscriptions, installers, or telemetry. It runs as a single executable, making it ideal for USB use and field work. You can view PDFs with smooth PDFium rendering, navigate quickly with thumbnails, zoom, and shortcuts, and reorganize pages using drag-and-drop. It supports merging multiple PDFs, splitting documents, and extracting selected pages. KillerPDF also allows inline text editing with font matching to preserve the original layout, plus annotations like text boxes, freehand drawing, highlights, and reusable signatures. You can search full text, copy content easily, and print documents with flattened annotations. Designed as a free and open alternative to bloated PDF tools, it works fully offline on Windows 10/11 x64. No runtimes install. Everything needed is inside the EXE (targets .NET Framework 4.8, which ships with every supported Windows release). KillerPDF key features: High-quality PDF rendering via PDFium Edit PDF text inline (double-click to modify text) Page thumbnails and fast navigation with zoom and shortcuts Merge multiple PDFs into one Split PDFs and extract selected pages Drag-and-drop page reordering Font matching to preserve original document appearance Text boxes for notes Freehand drawing tools Highlight overlays with adjustable color, size, opacity Undo actions and clear per-page annotations Create, draw, and save reusable signatures Click-to-place signatures anywhere Full-text search with highlighted results Drag-select or Ctrl+A to copy text Print with annotations flattened Portable single-file app (~10 MB) No installer, no admin rights required No account, no telemetry KillerPDF 1.5.1 changelog: Performance Save Flattened PDF now uses multiple CPU cores. Page rasterization is parallelized (PNG encoding runs across cores; the PDFium render step stays serialized since the library isn't thread-safe), so large documents flatten significantly faster while the UI stays responsive (#68). Fixed PDFs that failed to open with "Unexpected EOF" now open (#72). The failure was PdfSharpCore's Flate inflater (SharpZipLib) rejecting the FlateDecode cross-reference stream on multi-revision PDFs - files that open fine in browsers, Acrobat, and Foxit. KillerPDF now detects this and re-opens the file losslessly through PDFium, preserving selectable text. Thanks to @javajon for the report and a detailed reproduction. Grid view renders every page. It was capped at the first 26 pages, so longer documents stopped loading partway through. Tiles also stream in progressively now instead of blocking until the whole document is rendered. Grid Ctrl+Scroll no longer reloads every page when the zoom is already at its limit and nothing would change. Removed a stray horizontal scrollbar (a thin green line) that could appear across the bottom of grid view. Files on UNC / network shares (including the WSL \\wsl$ filesystem) are copied locally before opening, avoiding partial-read failures on network filesystems. Changed Minimum zoom lowered from 10% to 5%, so grid view can pack more columns (helpful for wide/landscape pages) and single-page view can zoom out further.
