Do you get any extra weapons unlocked for MP by beating the SP, like with co-op?

Don't really want to bother with SP, even if it's 5 hours long.

Not that I'm aware of. And the only way I can see the single player being 5 hours long is if you play it on easy. I'm playing it on hard and I wouldn't exactly call it hard. You just die... a lot. I guess if hard is dieing repeatedly just to learn where the baddies will spawn and shoot there then yeah, it's hard. Anyways, I've got a lot more than 5 hours into it.

Am I right in thinking there's different weapons per class if your on different sides, I.e American and Russian.

Also on a side note im playing with a gtx285 and having it overheat when things get crazy on screen! New card time I think

The starting weapon for each class is different for russian and american. Later you do unlock the russian starting weapon for use on the american side and vise-versa though.

But if I unlock an American gun is it available on Russian?

Also I've only unlocked 1 gun so far on the American assault, a m16sa or something like that

Yes I am using a GTX460 and I can only use the medium level.

I will stick at this level as I am not going upgrade my card for one game. The 590 would be nice but it is about $500.00 USD.

Yes. Only the initial guns for each class are locked to faction specific but you can even unlock those to use on either side.

When your in the spawn selection screen, click on the gun and list of your unlocked weapons will pop up.

GTX 285 is still a beast

It should run fine on your settings and resolution.

Problem might lie somewhere else

Ive got some oc software to record some temperatures next time I play and to crank the fan up to 100% at a lower temp.

The game crashed and exited then windows 7 jumped between the high res and low colour schemes before telling me my video card drivers had crashed and recovered

Reinstall the driver. Make sure its the latest and if possible pull it out and use an air-blower to remove dust from the fan and inside of the card.

Job for tonight then

Worth getting another card to sli do you think or spend a bit more on a 570 or 6950?

Yes install driver 285.62. It only took me about 6 minutes to upgrade it. Unless you are a real hard core BF3 gamer, I would not spend any more money. As Muhammad said, your card is still a beast. Look at that chart I posted.

I am running 2 460's in SLi, and the game's Auto settings default to all High for me. In the SP that is fine, get a constant 60 FPS. I prefer as many FPS as possible in MP, so I personally put the settings down to Medium when playing MP, and I am always getting at least 60 FPS, and I get as high as 80-85. I am willing to sacrifice nice visuals for better performance, and honestly medium still looks good to me, so worth trying for those who want better performance. With that said, if I leave it at High in MP, I get anywhere from 40-65 FPS, which is still playable, just as I said, I prefer the constant 60+ FPS.

They defaulted to high for me as well but I will play it in medium as one 460 can't handle it, at least I don't think so.

I updated driver after installing bf3, not a true hard core gamer but have been looking for an excuse to upgrade ;)

Ill ask again, please help. My EA account still is not being recognized by Origin and my xbox live name wont connect to my EA account either yet im playing now. Also, is there a code or something for the Mass Effect 3 dog tags?

I think you are in the wrong thread. :)

    • Yup, broke my comp… again. its times like this when I regret AMD. This just never happens on NV.
    • Huh? You're delusional calling the Steam Deck dead. It is so successful that it has sold out multiple times. Even after the price hike this year it sold out again with 24 hours of being back in stock. The demand is real and has not died down even after four years.
