Almost 4 million people are trying out Windows 10 through the Insider program

Microsoft has announced today at Build that the Insider program continues to be a big success with numerous people signing up to try out Windows 10. Almost 4 million users have signed up.

On stage at Build today Microsoft announced that there were now 3.7 million registered users as Windows Insiders trying out the beta versions of Windows 10 on desktop and mobile devices.

Back in January the company announced the Insider program had reached 2.2 million users, but it has obviously grown since then. As Windows 10 is getting more and more refined, new features are being added and the launch date is moving ever closer, now there are now more people than ever willing to try out the new OS and let the company know what they think.

The Insider program has proven a big success for the company, which has traditionally been much less open about its software and OS development. However, with thousands of pieces of direct feedback, not to mention the incredible amount of automated data that the company has received, it managed to improve Windows 10 and ensure that the OS will be better received upon launch.

We also know that Microsoft will continue the Insider program even after Windows 10 launches and this will now be a staple of the development cycle inside of the company.
