AMD quietly launches multiple Ryzen CPUs for both AM4 and AM5 for both home and office PCs

AMD has launched several new CPUs today in the form of the Ryzen 9700F, 9500F, 5600F, as well as four new PRO variants.

An AMD Ryzen graphic

AMD today has launched a bunch of new desktop CPUs. If you are wondering about it, yes Socket AM4 is still alive and well as a new Zen 3-based Ryzen 5 5600F has been added to its official website, although after other outlets started reporting on it, it appears that the chip giant has deleted the information.

Other than the 5600F, AMD has also released a couple of Zen 5-based Ryzen 9000F-series parts that are instead compatible with Socket AM5. If you are not familiar with AMD's desktop Ryzen naming scheme, the company uses the F-series nomenclature to indicate processors that do not feature integrated graphics on board.

This strategy is also employed by Intel wherein parts that fail validation in terms of the iGP (integrated graphics processor) but are otherwise working, are sold as separate SKUs. While these variants do come in cheaper, the drawback is that you will need a separate discrete desktop GPU to get a display out of your system as the iGP on a processor is what contains the display and the media blocks.

The key technical specifications of the chips are given below:

Model Cores / Threads Base Clock Max Boost Clock Cache (L2+L3) TDP
AMD Ryzen™ 7 9700F 8 / 16 3.8 GHz Up to 5.5 GHz 40 MB 65 W
AMD Ryzen™ 5 9500F 6 / 12 3.8 GHz Up to 5.0 GHz 38 MB 65 W
AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600F 6 / 12 3.0 GHz Up to 4.0 GHz 35 MB 65 W

Aside from consumer chips, AMD has also launched new commercial processors expanding its Ryzen PRO lineup further. The new chips comprise both Ryzen 9000 PRO and Ryzen 7000 PRO series, with three chips, the 12-core 24-thread 9945, 8-core 16-thread 9745 and 6-core 12-thread 9645, being based on Zen 4-based PRO 9000 series. There is also a fourth variant that belongs to the PRO 7000 series and that is the 6-core 12-thread 7745, built on Zen 4.

The technical specs are given below:

Model Cores / Threads Base Clock Max Boost Clock Cache (L2+L3) TDP
AMD Ryzen™ 9 PRO 9945 12 / 24 3.4 GHz Up to 5.4 GHz 76 MB 65 W
AMD Ryzen™ 7 PRO 9745 8 / 16 3.8 GHz Up to 5.4 GHz 40 MB 65 W
AMD Ryzen™ 5 PRO 9645 6 / 12 3.3 GHz Up to 4.3 GHz 38 MB 65 W
AMD Ryzen™ 5 PRO 7745 6 / 12 3.3 GHz Up to 4.3 GHz 22 MB 65 W
