Anonymous renews offensive against ISIS

Last week the war against ISIS was brought back into focus when several terrorists bombed, took hostages and killed numerous civilians in several locations of the French capital, Paris. In response to these attacks, we heard from many politicians condemning the incident. Joining in their response, Anonymous have released a video stating that they will attack ISIS in the online realm, targeting social media accounts and ISIS-related websites, as well as exposing those online involved with the group.

In a new video announcing the new campaign, an unidentified man donning the iconic mask said "These attacks cannot go unpunished. That's why Anonymous activists from all over the world will hunt you down. Yes, you, the vermin who kill innocent victims - we will hunt you down like we did to those who carried out the attacks on Charlie Hebdo. So get ready for a massive reaction from Anonymous."

Earlier this year, in the aftermath of the Charlie Hebdo attacks, Anonymous declared 'war' on ISIS and launched a number of denial of service attacks against websites promoting radical Islam. Additionally, they got people to report Twitter accounts who were thought to be involved in spreading terrorism.

To stay up to date on events unfolding related to this new offensive from Anonymous, users can follow the #OpParis hashtag on Twitter and other social networks.
