Gaming news seems a little short on the ground today but we have still got mentioned of Flight Control HD for Windows and the Mac, new LEGO Universe levels, upcoming Fable III DLC and the new ZX Spectrum Collection for the iPad.

Firemint announce Flight Control HD for Windows & Mac

It has taken a while to get off the ground, but Firemint have finally confirmed that Flight Control HD will be coming to Windows and the Mac by the end of the year. The game will be released on Steam and come with an exclusive new map called "Stunt Flying" which has new gameplay features where players can score extra points if they fly through a course of stunt cones before landing. As expected, the game with come with both Steam achievements and leaderboards. The game will be released before the end of the month.

New LEGO Universe "World Builder League" zones created

We have been told that the "World Build League", a group of LEGO fans who have also started to develop for the game have released three new zones to LEGO Universe, the online MMOG released late last month. Players who want to check out the new zones need to first visit Starbase 3001 and then get on the launch pad and head to either DeepFreeze, MoonBase or Portabello.

Fable III DLC announced

Fable III may not have been out in stores all that long, but Microsoft has already announced that the first download pack for the game will be released on November 23. The lack is called "Understone Quest" and costs 400 Microsoft points. It will add three new quests to the game.

“The Voice”: In the main quest, explore the mysterious underground land built by Montague Hummes in fear of the Spire in “Fable II” 

  • Discover the origin of the voice that controls the people of Understone
  • Features a moral decision that will lead to two drastically different outcomes in Understone

“Shooting Range”: After defeating Saker during your quest to become King, the remaining Mercenaries have turned their camp into a tourist attraction. The main attraction being the replayable shooting range mode -

  • Beat the high scores to win three prizes that can be used while playing the mini-game: the Marksman 500 (gifted to players for downloading the pack), Money Shot (prize) and Black Dragon (prize) 

“The Wheel of Misfortune”: After Reaver vacated his home, he set up a venture for budding heroes to replay the thrilling arena-based challenges within his new dwellings -

  • Beat the high scores to win three new weapons that can be used while playing in the mini-game:  The Full Monty (gifted to player upon downloading pack), Dirty Harriet (prize) and Dead Ned’s Revolver (prize)

Alan Wake 2 to be Kinect Compatible?

An interesting piece on Eurogamer has made mention of Alan Wake's creators Remedy's Website, showing a mention of a job asking for a motion control expert. Although there has been no official announcement of Alan Wake 2 so far from the company, they have made many mentions about wanting to start work on the title.

ZX Spectrum Elite Collection HD released

Elite System has released ZX Spectrum Elite Collection HD for the Apple iPad at just £2.99/$4.99. The pack contains a host of ZX spectrum games including classics such as Chuckie Egg, Harrier Attack, Buggy Boy and one of my favourites, Saboteur. The app will have another free update released within a month containing more games as well as additional packs to be released in the future.
