Doodle 4 Google - K-12 Logo Competition Voting Starts

Doodle 4 Google is a competition where kids from across the U.S. were asked to doodle new Google logos. Google had received thousands of entries, and narrowed it down to 40 finalists for public voting. Voting is now open to the public, and the winner will replace the normal logo May 22, 2008!

In 2000, Dennis Hwang became Google's first doodler. When asked how he comes up with designs for logos Hwang responded: "First, I do a lot of brainstorming, search for images on Google, and absorb all the imagery. Then I apply a design that interacts with letters. I find that a bit more interesting."
