Facebook head Mark Zuckerberg is only eating the meat he kills ... really

If you are the head of the biggest social networking web site in the world, and one of the biggest web sites period, you can pretty much do whatever you want to do. Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg is doing just that, at least in one aspect of his life. In a new article on Fortune's CNN web site, Zuckerberg says that as a personal challenge he has chosen only to eat the meat that he personally kills.

Yep, that means that Zuckerberg has turned, at least temporarily, into a (sort of) hunter when it comes to his meat eating habits. He tells the web site, "Every year in recent memory, I've taken on a personal challenge -- something to learn about the world, expand my interests and teach myself greater discipline." In 2010, Zuckerberg's personal challenge was to learn the Mandarin Chinese language, a fairly normal pursuit that will likely be very helpful in his business.

But this year it's something quite different. Zuckerberg states, "This year I've basically become a vegetarian since the only meat I'm eating is from animals I've killed myself." He says that he wants to take personal responsibility for what he puts in his own stomach, saying, "I think many people forget that a living being has to die for you to eat meat, so my goal revolves around not letting myself forget that and being thankful for what I have." He adds that since he has taken up this new challenge that he has been eating healthier foods. As far as his meat eating habits he has killed and eaten a lobster and a chicken and now he's apparently interested in going hunting for his next meat meal.
