Facebook's offices in Germany vandalised

One of Facebook's offices in Hamburg, Germany has become the victim of vandals who appear to have taken a disliking to Facebook.

The attack was carried out overnight on Sunday and resulted in vandals spraying paint on the walls to the entrance of the building, with the words "Facebook Dislike". The vandals even smashed glass and threw paint towards the entrance.

Police are saying that the attack was carried out by around 15-20 people, who were wearing black clothing with hoods at the time. There is currently an ongoing investigation into the attack in order to establish the exact motive and to apprehend the culprits behind the attacks.

Details of the reason for the vandalism are, as of yet, unknown - however some are theorizing that it is in relation to the European Head of Facebook, who is currently under investigation for failing to remove hate speech on the social network. Although Facebook denies that there was any breach of German law, claiming that there was no merit. A spokesperson for the company had the following to say:

We can say that the allegations lack merit and there has been no violation of German law by Facebook or its employees.

Facebook has not yet commented on the incident at its offices.
