Facebook's services are experiencing problems with media files

Facebook is no stranger to service outages across its platforms, and today it seems like it's time for another one. If you've logged in to one of the company's social media services, including Facebook proper, Instagram, and WhatsApp, you may have noticed some trouble loading images and other media files.

Reports of the problems have cropped up all over the internet today, and the company has confirmed that it is indeed experiencing some issues. According to DownDetector, the problems started being reported at around 9AM Eastern Time, with outages being reported all over the world. The social networking giant has acknowledged the problem and says it's working to resolve the problems.

As of the time of writing, the number of reports seems to have been decreasing over the past few hours, so the situation should be worked out sometime soon. Nonetheless, the recurring failures of Facebook's services may be starting to get a little frustrating for its users. We'll update this post if any new updates are provided by Facebook.
