Today, viewers who tuned into gamescom 2021's Opening Night Live got a detailed glimpse into the story of Far Cry 6. The title takes place on Yara, a tropical paradise with a ruthless ruler. Antón Castillo is intent on restoring his nation back to its former glory by any means, and is touting a cancer cure made from unique tobacco leaves as his ticket to do so.
As seen in the trailer, a local resistance is forming and they want to take him down. However, uncovering the mystery behind the medical advances Castillo claims may be a greater challenge. The gameplay is just as chaotic as ever, and stays true to the Far Cry franchise. You play as Dani Rojas, a local Yaran, as you fight alongside a modern-day guerrilla revolution to liberate the country.
