HMD Global teases another Nokia event, this time for December 5

Juho Sarvikas, CPO of HMD Global, has gone to Twitter to announce a new Nokia-related event which is set to take place on December 5 in Dubai. Rumors have suggested a successor to last year's Nokia 8.

HMD Global, the licensee for the Nokia brand for phones, is set to hold another event early next month. Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer at HMD, went on Twitter to tease the event with the message "Expect More".

The tweet also shows images of an unknown smartphone. Though it's not easy to glean many details from the picture, it looks to sport a notch at the top of the display, and it seems to come in at least two color models.

Rumors have been swirling regarding a few Nokia smartphones that might be coming in the near future, so there are a couple of possibilities here. The Nokia X7 - presumed to be called the Nokia 7.1 Plus in the West - was spotted on Geekbench last month, as was the Nokia 8.1. Both of these would reportedly come with a Snapdragon 710 processor.

The Nokia 9, which has gained a bit of a reputation for its penta-lens setup on the back, was also seen in renders earlier this month, though those images don't show a notched display, so it seems like that isn't the same phone being featured here. We will only know for sure when HMD makes the announcements on December 5.
