Intel launches Core Ultra 200HX Plus mobile processors for gamers and pros

Intel is officially refreshing its high-end mobile lineup with the new Core Ultra 200HX Plus series, boasting lower latency and better gaming performance.

Intel has just announced the launch of the new Intel Core Ultra 200HX Plus series of mobile processors, targeting gamers and professionals. The company said that these entries are high-performance options in the Core Ultra 200 series family that have been optimized for advanced gaming, streaming, content creation, and workstation use.

Making up the Intel Core Ultra 200HX Plus series are the Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus and the Intel Core Ultra 7 270HX Plus. Both bring new features and architectural refinements such as the new Intel Binary Optimization Tool which can improve native performance in select games.

In the case of the 290HX Plus, Intel delivers up to 8% faster gaming performance and up to 7% single thread performance compared to the previous generation Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX. It also delivers a boost of up to 900MHz to the die-to-die frequency. This increases the speed of the CPU and memory controller link by nearly one gigahertz, leading to a reduction in system latency and improved gaming performance.

These new processors also have support for discrete Intel Wi-Fi 7 (5 Gig), Intel Wireless Bluetooth 5.4, and Intel Thunderbolt 5 which supports up to 80 Gbps bidirectional bandwidth to transfer large files quickly.
