Internet addiction is a disorder?

Well, at least it is in China. Recently China has had many instances, just like other parts of the world, where fights, even murders, have taken place over Internet occurrences.

Online "relationships" are one of the main reasons in those cases. Aside from that, China has linked fear, the inability to socialize, suicide attempts, and drug use, to Internet "addiction."

The people being considered for this disorder are just like those of you reading this article right now. Constantly checking email, playing video games, and chatting over the net, are just some of the things individuals do who are considered to have this disorder.

This is not the first time we have heard about something like this. Roughly a year ago the Finnish Army was actually releasing people from service due to their "Internet Addiction." China has set up treatment centers in multiple places in attempts to "cure" this disorder. Like everything else, where there's a "problem", there is money to be made.
